1. Sing the song:“Where is the hospital?”进入英语学习氛围。
2.出示本单元所有的单词卡片，学生开火车读单词并说出汉语意思。
3.设置情景并讨论，如果大家在小轿车里，出示课件图片“map, compass, GPS, stars”,让大家讨论这里面哪一样工具可以帮忙找到所到地方的准确位置。
1.结合图片，先粗略地将短文浏览一遍，在略读之前，可看下后面的练习，教师介绍阅读背景。Wu Yifan's grandpa gave Robin a new feature. He now has GPS. He can help the boys find the Italian Restaurant。
2.讲解新单词。教师在讲解短文背景的时候，可直接讲授“gave, feature, GPS”。另外，还有什么新单词呢？用“Follow me, please”引出单词“follow”，他们要找的restaurant远不远呢？出示两点距离对比 ，引出“far”有多远呢，让我来告诉你。“tell”“告诉”，板书新单词“GPS, gave, feature, follow, far, tell”。
3.在略读之后，完成练习，如果还有不确定的，第二遍精读，将难以理解的单词和句子作上记号：并思考：
(1) Where are they?
(2) Who gave Robin a new feature? What's it?
(3) How can they get to the Italian restaurant?
4.学生回答完问题，并结合图片，小组讨论四幅图片的意思，比一比谁能最好地解释出来，教师在学生交流展示成果的同时，可结合上下文对重难点句子进行教授理解。
5.根据交流展示结果，将路线图画出来，并一起核对答案。
1.在精读短文之后，为锻炼学生的写作能力和口语表达能力，可让学生用自己的话复述短文，并能自己表达出来，教师予以指导和点评。
2.三人一组表演出这个对话，并要求熟练掌握表达“怎样走的”句型。
3.课堂小练习：短文填空，首字母已给出。
Wu Yi fan's grandpa gave Robin a new feature .Robin now has GPS .They want to find the Italian restaurant .Now they are in front of the cinema. They should go straight and turn left at the bookstore. Then they are behind the hospital. They turn right and then turn right again. Finally, they get to the restaurant. The GPS works.
