1.教师播放歌曲My family, 引入话题What does your mother/father do?
2.猜词游戏:教师给出学生提示,让学生猜测职业。

教师呈现Career Day的场景图,告诉学生在foreign country的学校有一个特殊的主题日:Career Day——“职业介绍日”,在这一天要请来嘉宾,给孩子们介绍各自的职业,增进孩子们对各个职业的了解,激发孩子们的兴趣,希望对他们今后的择业有帮助。

学生听音跟读。
2.出示不同职业的图片,What does he/she do? He/She is …让学生整体感知单词和词组:factory worker, postman, businessman, police officer,可鼓励学生大胆拼读。
3.播放录音,学生跟读,注意词形变化规律,如:-er和-man。利用男女不同职业的图片,提示学生:postman和postwoman,businessman 和businesswoman,policeman和policewoman,waiter和waitress等,了解英语中职业名称对于不同性别的差异。
4.创设情景,在Career Day这天,Zhang Peng遇见了Oliver,What are they talking about? What does Oliver’s father do? Is his father a postman/…? 播放对话录音,学生寻找关键信息,核对答案。
5.播放Let’s learn 部分录音,学生跟读模仿,分角色表演对话。
1.教师做听前指导:在Career Day这一天,很多孩子们都感受了父母职业的辛劳,Please listen carefully!将Jiao Jie, Ge Nan, Zhou Jia和Li Qian父母的职业进行连线匹配,给学生1分钟读题审题时间。
2.播放录音二遍,学生听取关键信息,完成Listen and match练习。
3.根据听取的信息,互相说一说,What does Jiao Jie’s mother do? She is a/an… 点拨a和an的用法。
1.“快看快说”活动
教师同时快速出示一张职业图片和she,he,Sarah中的任一张卡片,学生根据卡片上的内容快速说出一个句子,如:She is an actress.
2..教师向学生展示杂志上的名人照片,问:“Who's he/she? What does he/she do?”引导学生回答:“That's…He's/She's a…”
3.Summing up&Homework
T: We learned new careers on Career Day. Look and say: He is a worker. My uncle is a postman. The policeman is very kind and helpful. The businessman is always very busy.

歌曲热身引入
复习之前学过的单词、句型,引出新课的话题。
career day在中国的学校并不是很普遍,所以图片方式呈现careers,再从careers过渡到career day,通过图片和教师的解释,创设学习环境,了解本课主题内容。
