The
great
success
of
Finding
Dory
is
being
met
with
mixed
feelings
by
experts.
That's
because
though
the
movie
can
draw
attention
to
our
weak
coral
reefs
(珊瑚礁)
that
need
protection,
it
may
lead
to
further
damage
to
life
at
sea.
After
the
movie
Finding
Nemo
came
out
in
2003,
the
clownfish
(小丑鱼)
became
popular
with
every
kid
in
America.
As
a
result,
the
number
of
clownfish
in
the
wild
greatly
dropped.
Blue
tangs
(蓝吊鱼)
also
became
popular
pets
because
of
the
movie.
Sadly,
most
blue
tangs
are
caught
with
the
help
of
cyanide
(氰化物).
Cyanide
works
on
the
fish,
allowing
them
to
be
easily
caught
and
sold
to
pet
stores.
Cyanide
is
harmful
to
humans.
It
also
harms
coral
and
other
life
at
sea.
Even
the
fish
that
are
caught
by
using
cyanide
are
harmed.
Many
end
up
dying
within
months
of
being
brought
to
the
store.
It
is
not
allowed
to
sell
fish
that
have
been
caught
using
cyanide
in
the
US.
However,
a
2008
study
discovered
that
up
to
90%
of
the
11
million
pet
fish
brought
into
the
country
each
year
have
been
caught
using
this
harmful
fishing
method.
More
recently,
two
researchers
Craig
Downs
and
Rene
Umberger
did
a
study
to
test
if
the
fish
sold
in
US
pet
stores
had
been
harmed
by
cyanide.
They
found
that
of
the
100
fish
bought
from
stores
in
California,
Hawaii,
Maryland,
North
Carolina,
and
Virginia,
over
half,
including
the
blue
tangs,
had
cyanide
in
their
body.
To
help
people
make
better
decisions
when
looking
for
fish
for
their
kids,
the
researchers
made
a
free
mobile
app,
called
Tank
Watch-the
app
helps
people
to
know
whether
a
fish
has
been
caught
using
illegal
fishing
methods.
The
World
Wildlife
Foundation
is
asking
fans
of
the
movie
not
to
“Find”
Dory,
but
to
“Protect”
the
beautiful
fish!
This
means
not
rushing
out
and
buying
a
blue
tang
after
watching
the
film.
As
Ellen
Degeneres,
voice
actress
for
Dory,
says,
the
movie
is
not
about
“Finding”
Dory,
but
about
“putting
it
back
to
the
ocean”.
1.What
makes
experts
worried
after
the
movie
Finding
Dory
came
out?
A.That
people
may
not
like
it.
B.That
the
clownfish
will
disappear.
C.That
people
may
rush
out
to
buy
a“Dory”.
D.That
coral
reefs
may
not
draw
any
attention.
2.What
do
the
two
studies
mentioned
in
Paragraph
4
tell
us?
A.It's
very
hard
to
catch
pet
fish
at
sea.
B.Blue
tangs
are
very
popular
in
the
US.
C.Cyanide
is
not
allowed
to
use
in
the
US.
D.Many
pet
fish
in
the
US
are
caught
by
using
cyanide.
3.Tank

would
most
probably
be
used
by
people
who
want
to
________.
A.buy
a
pet
fish
online
B.catch
fish
more
easily
C.talk
about
movies
with
others
D.avoid
buying
illegally?caught
fish
4.What
Ellen
Degeneres
says
mainly
shows
that
people
should
________.
A.avoid
keeping
a
blue
tang
B.go
to
watch
Finding
Dory
C.help
experts
find
blue

D.return
their

B
Moose
(驼鹿),
which
weigh
up
to
700
kilograms,
can
be
dangerous
to
people.
They
can
cause
deadly
traffic
accidents
and
also
can
harm
people
and
other
animals
by
stepping
on
them.
Wildlife
biologists
in
the
US
are
trying
to
get
a
correct
count
of
this
kind
of
big
animals.
The
counting
is
being
done
in
Alaska's
largest
city,
Anchorage.
Recently,
many
moose
have
been
found
in
this
city.
The_officials_tried_to_get_their_count,_but_the_problem_is_that_the_animals_continually_move_and_the_city_covers_an_area_of_over_5,000_square_kilometers.
In
the
past,
officials
used
low?flying
airplanes
to
watch
for
moose
on
the
ground
to
get
their
count.
But
rules
from
the
city's
airport
now
prevent
such
flights,
so
Alaska's
Department
of
Fish
and
Game
is
experimenting
with
a
new
method
for
counting
the
city's
moose.
The
researchers
are
trying
to
collect
genetic
material
called
DNA
from
moose.
They
say
this
will
allow
them
to
get
a
more
accurate
(精确的)
result
without
having
to
catch
them.
Biologists
sought
help
from
the
public
during
their
three?day
project
last
month.
They
asked
people
to
call
or
send
text
messages
to
report
when
they
saw
a
moose.
Teams
of
moose
hunters
then
quickly
drove
to
the
areas.
The
teams
shot
the
moose
with
special
darts
(飞镖)
designed
to
get
small
pieces
of
skin
and
hair.
The
darts
were
weighted
so
that
they
could
fall
off
the
moose
and
then
the
material
could
be
collected.
The
skin
and
fur
were
then
taken
to
a
laboratory
to
be
studied.
Researchers
say
the
darts
do
not
hurt
the
animals.
Biologist
Dave
Battle
led
the
project.
“There's
really
been
no
technique
up
until
now.
And
it's
something
we've
been
beating
our
brains
out
to
work
on
for
the
last
couple
of
years,”
he
said.
Battle
says
the
technology
is
allowing
officials
to
improve
their
knowledge
and
management
of
the
moose
population
in
the
Anchorage
area.
But
he
adds
that
it
will
take
some
time
to
study
the
DNA
material
to
come
up
with
specific
numbers.
5.What
can
be
inferred
from
the
underlined
part
in
Paragraph
2?

city
is
known
for
its
special
moose.
B.The
process
of
counting
the
moose
is
not
easy.
C.The
number
of
the
moose
in
the
city
is
increasing.
D.The
officials
regard
the
moose
as
a
serious
city
problem.
6.Why
do
researchers
collect
DNA
from
the
moose?
A.To
study
their
movements.
B.To
get
the
number
of
the
moose.
C.To
drive
away
the
moose
in
the
city.
D.To
work
out
ways
of
making
them
live
longer.
7.What
is
mainly
talked
about
in
Paragraph
4?
A.The
reasons
for
studying
the
moose.
B.The
purposes
of
counting
the
moose.
C.The
way
of
collecting
genetic
material
from
the
moose.
D.The
value
of
studying
genetic
material
from
the
moose.
8.What
can
we
know
about
the
project
led
by
Battle?
A.It
didn't
do
any
harm
to
the
moose.
B.It
cost
lots
of
money
and
time.
C.It
was
based
on
a
previous
technique.

B
What
do
you
usually
do
when
a
flying
insect
lands
on
your
arm?
Most
likely
you
blow
it
away.
But
what
if
that
bug
were
a
ladybug
(瓢虫)?
Then
chances
are
you
would
let
it
stay.
What
is
it
about
ladybugs
that
we
like?
Farmers
once
thought
ladybugs
were
a
good
luck
sign.
A
ladybug
in
the
field
meant
that
the
crops
(庄稼)
would
be
successful
and
the
weather
would
be
good.
The
farmers
may
have
been
exaggerating
(夸大)
about
what
a
very
small
bug
can
do,
but
in
fact
ladybugs
do
help
out
with
the
crops.
They
eat
harmful
insects.
Actually,
it
is
not
the
adult
ladybug
that
eats
the
other
insects.
It's
the
ladybug
larvae
(幼虫).
Ladybugs
lay
their
eggs
on
leaves
that
are
covered
with
aphids
or
other
insects.
When
the
larvae
come
out
of
the
eggs,
they
are
very
hungry
and
will
eat
mites,
aphids,
mealybugs,
green
flies,
and
other
crop?destroyers.
A
single
ladybug
larva
can
eat
over
1,000
aphids
in
one
day.
In
the
1800s,
ladybugs
were
brought
all
the
way
from
Australia
to
California
and
set
free
among
orange
trees
that
were
dying
from
being
eaten
by
insects.
The
little
red
and
black
“eating
machines”
completely
saved
all
the
trees.
Ladybugs
go
about
their
daily
business
without
worrying
much
about
anything.
Very
few
birds
or
insects
will
eat
a
ladybug
because
it
gives
off
something
that
is
dangerous
to
eat.
Ladybugs
also
protect
themselves
by
playing
dead.They
fall
off
leaves
and
remain
very
still
until
their
enemy
goes
away.
So
next
time
you
see
a
ladybug,
think
about
what
it
may
be
up
to.
Maybe
it
is
off
to
save
an
orange
tree.
Maybe
its
next
move
will
be
to
fall
off
a
leaf
and
play
dead
or
stand_up_to
a
bird
about
100
times
its
size.
Maybe
it's
letting
you
know
that
the
weather
will
be
good
tomorrow.
Who
knows?
Ladybugs
are
special
that
way.
5.What
do
we
know
about
mites
and
aphids?
A.They
do
harm
to
the
crops.
B.They
eat
more
than
they
should.
C.They
are
food
for
adult
ladybugs.
D.They
are
the
enemy
of
ladybug
larvae.
6.Why
were
ladybugs
brought
from
Australia
to
California
in
the
1800s?
A.To
report
the
weather
for
farmers.
B.To
increase
their
number.
C.To
do
research
on
them.
D.To
save
orange

For
many,
running
has
never
been
their
favorite
activity.
But
running
can
certainly
be
a
great
way
to
get
fit
and
stay
healthy.
Getting
started
is
difficult.
__1__
Running
can
be
boring
at
times,
but
the
effect
on
your
body
and
mind
is
well
worth
that
struggle
of
just
getting
up

running.
__2__
Every
major

and
many
smaller

have
running
communities.
They
are
quite
organized
and
willing
to
help.
They
will
help
you
see
your
running
goals
through.
Start
with
short
distances.
Though
the
running
community
would
love
to
have
a
new
long?distance
runner
tomorrow,
the
fact
is
that
that
will
not
happen
overnight.
Try
running
one
mile
every
day
for
the

3
weeks.
After
that,
add
it

event.
I
suggest
signing
up
for
a
5?kilometer

Motivation
is
a
major
factor
in
running
success.
A

you
through
the

and
motivate
you
in

C.Bring
a
friend

D.Most
of
you
will
have
no
problem
finding
a
great
race.
E.Shorter
distances
are
a
step
to
longer
and
more
successful
runs.
F.There
are
so
many
activities
people
would
rather
be

up
to有“回击、抵御”之意。
8.答案与解析:C 推理判断题。本文旨在介绍瓢虫这种能够吃害虫的昆虫,它们对于庄稼来说是得力的帮手,故C项中的helper最符合瓢虫的这一特性。

When
dogs
get
lonely,they
like
keeping
themselves
busy
by
making
a
big
mess
around
the
house
and
that
doesn't
really
sit
well
with
their
owners.
That's
why
one
German
radio
host,
who
also
happens
to
be
a
dog
owner
came
up
with
the
idea
for
a
programme
designed
to
relax
dogs
and
make
them
feel
like
they
aren't
alone.
When
30?year?old
Stephan
Stock,
a
radio
host
at
RadioTon,
in
Germany's
Baden?Württemberg
region,
announced
the
creation
of
a
programme
aimed
at
dogs,
everyone
thought
it
was
just
a
clever
April
Fools
trick.
However,
it
wasn't.
For
the
past
three
and
a
half
months,
Hallo
Hasso
has
been
pumping
out
music
for
lonely
dogs
both
on
the
radio
and
online.
Stock
says
he
was
inspired
to
create
the
special
programme
by
his
pet
dog,
Layla,
who
would
sometimes
get
so
bored
when
left
alone
that
she
would
keep
herself
busy
by
making
a
big
mess
around
the
house.
He
and
his
colleagues
at
RadioTon
started
researching
what
kind
of
music
usually
appeals
to
dogs,
and
learnt
that
it
should
have
as
little
drum
and
electric
guitar
as
possible,
and
should
be
very
slow.
“It's
not
about
keeping
dogs
quiet,”
Stock
said
about
Hallo
Hasso.
“It's
more
about
the
dog
feeling
he's
not
alone.”
He
adds
that
Layla
isn't
as
restless
since
listening
to
Hallo
Hasso,
and
has
become
relatively
quiet,
even
letting
him
take
a
nap
(打盹儿)
to
the
music
from
the
radio.
Hallo
Hasso
is
only
available
in
Baden?Württemberg,
via
radio,
but
if
you'd
like
to
see
if
it
can
calm
your
four?legged
pet,
the
programme
can
also
be
accessed
online
here.
Just
press
the
“play”
arrow
at
the
top
of
the

and
let
the
music
work
its
magic.

this

1.What
do
lonely
dogs
usually
do?
A.Bark

D.Cause
damage.
2.How
did
people
respond
to
Stock's
announcement
of
a
programme
for
dogs?
A.They
thought
poorly
of
it.
B.They
didn't
take
it
seriously.
C.They
showed
great
interest
in
it.
D.They
eagerly
expected
its
broadcast.
3.What
can
we
know
about
Hallo

from
the

A.It's
accessible
only
by
radio.
B.It
aims
at
keeping
dogs
quiet.
C.It
has
no

on
music

D.It's
a

of
Stock's
own

4.Where

this

A.On
a
webpage.
B.In
a
newspaper.
C.In
a
pet

B
With
their
furry
round
heads
and
big
black
eyes,
Zhongzhong
and
Huahua
look
just
the
same
as
any
other
monkey.
But
they
happen
to
be
the
world's
first
cloned
monkeys.
Years
ago,
scientists
used
cloning
techniques
to
produce
Dolly,
the
world's
first
cloned
mammal
(哺乳动物).
They
now
used
the
same
technique
to
produce
the
monkeys
in
China.
In
animal
cloning,
animals
are
produced
in
a
lab
by
using
DNA
that
is
taken
from
the
cells
of
a
naturally?born
animal.
To
clone
Zhongzhong
and
Huahua,
scientists
from
the
Chinese
Academy
of
Sciences
first
removed
the
nucleus
(细胞核)
from
a
monkey's
egg
cell.
They
then
put
another
nucleus
taken
from
the
monkey's
body
cells
into
the
egg
cell.
The
newly?formed
egg
was
put
into
the
womb
(子宫)of
a
female
monkey.
Finally,
Zhongzhong
and
Huahua
were
born.
The
cloning
process
is
hard,
especially
removing
nucleus.
It
needs
to
be
done
in
a
fast
and
precise
(精确的)
way.
The
faster
you
do
it,
the
less
damage
is
done
to
the
egg,
according
to
CAS.
Scientist
Liu
Zhen
spent
three
years
practising
removing
the
nucleus.
Unlike
common
monkeys,
cloned
monkeys
have
the
same
DNA
as
each
other.
When
doing
experiments
on
them,
scientists
can
easily
know
that
certain
results
are
caused
by
different
treatments,
rather
than
different
genes.
According
to
Sun
Qiang
from
CAS,
most
drug
trials
(药物试验)
are
done
on
lab
mice.
However,
drugs
that
work
on
mice
might
not
work
on
humans.
The
two
species
are
very
different.
“Monkeys
and
humans
are
closely
related
and
testing
on
monkeys
is
supposed
to
be
as
effective
as
testing
on
humans,”
Sun
added.
5.What
can
we
learn
about
Zhongzhong
and
Huahua?
A.They
are
naturally?born
monkeys.
B.They
are
the
world's
first
cloned
mammals.
C.They
are
the
world's
first
cloned
monkeys.
D.They
are
twin
sheep
that
were
born
by
Dolly.
6.What
do
we
know
about
the
two
monkeys?
A.They
look
different
from
other
monkeys.
B.They
have
the
same
DNA.
C.Their
body
cells
don't
have
any
nucleus.
D.They
can
live
for
only
three
years.
7.What
can
we
learn
from
Paragraph
4?
A.Removing
the
nucleus
is
difficult.
B.The
cloning
process
is
very
safe.
C.It
took
three
years
to
remove
the
nucleus.
D.It
is
impossible
to
clone
other
animals.
8.Why
do
scientists
want
to
do
drug
tests
on
monkeys?
A.Because
it's
easier
to
use
them
for
tests.
B.Because
there
are
not
enough
mice.
C.Because
drugs
work
well
on
monkeys.
D.Because
monkeys
are
similar
to
humans.
