Ⅳ.完形填空
It
began
a
year
ago,
around
Christmas.
Every
time
I
drove
down
our
street,
I
__16__
an
old
man
sitting
in
his
front
yard.
He
was
usually
smoking
or
drinking,
and
looking
rather
unhappy.
One
day,
while
I
was
driving
past
him
with
my
__17__,
I
decided
to
wave
at
him
with
a
lot
of
excitement.
__18__,
when
he
noticed
me
waving
at
him,
he
looked
a
bit
shocked.
Then,
I
saw
his
hand
go
up
and
he
waved
back.
“__19__
did
you
wave
at
him?”
my
daughter
asked.
I
told
her
it's
just
an
act
of
kindness
that
doesn't
__20__
anything.
It
gives
both
him
and
me
a
feeling
of
joy.
My
daughter
replied
that
she
felt
a
bit
uncomfortable
to
wave
to
a
__21__,
but
next
time
she
would
try
it
as
well.
We
lived
close
to
the
old
man,
__22__
we
saw
him
rather
often.
Whenever
we
drove
by,
both
of
us
would
start
waving
at
him
and,
pretty
soon,
the
old
man
started
__23__
at
everyone
who
passed
by
his
house.
One
time,
my
daughter's
friend
came
to
visit
and
she
told
my
daughter
that
she
saw
this
strange
old
man
near
our
home
wave
at
her
very
__24__.
She
mentioned
that
she
waved
back,
although
she
didn't
know
__25__,
and
it
felt
really
good.
As
soon
as
my
daughter
heard
this,
she
told
her
friend
the
__26__
of
how
all
the
waving
began.
Her
friend
answered,
“Tell
your
mom
that's
really
cool!”
Other
friends
gave
similar
__27__.
This
taught
my
daughter
that
an
act
of
kindness
can
be
natural
and
__28__,
if
you
really
want
to
do
it.
It
showed
us
how
giving
happiness
can
do
good
to
__29__
the
giver
and
the
receiver.
Moved
by
the
old
man's
actions,
we're
planning
to
give
our
waving
neighbor
a
thank?you
card
to
express
our
__30__
for
his
exciting
waves.
We
are
really
thankful
to
him
sharing
his
simple
joy
with
all
the
people
who
pass
by
his
house.

Ⅴ.杭州实验外国语学校等三校2020—2021学年上学期第二次质量检测阅读理解
I
opened
the
door.
“Where
are
you
going,
Mom?”
my
elder
son
asked
me.
And
his
little
brother
asked,
“Can
we
come,
too?”
“I'm
going
for
a
coffee,”
I
answered,
“and
no,
you
can't
come.”
Then
I
ran
away
before
they
could
say
something.
But
the
guilty(内疚的)
feelings
slowly
went
away.
Being
a
mom
is
hard
work.
There's
always
something
new
to
do
to
make
my
kids
happy.
Sometimes,
I
need
to
do
something
just
for
me.
It
teaches
my
kids
an
important
lesson:
I
matter,
too.
I
know
parenting
articles
often
tell
us
it's
OK
to
take
time
for
ourselves.
But
it's__so__much__harder__to__walk__the__talk.
Of
course,
we
should
put
ourselves
first
sometimes.
And
not
just
when
we
are
sick.
I'm
talking
about
putting
ourselves
first
in
other
ways.
For
example,
tell
the
babies
that
after
thirty
minutes
of
reading
to
them,
you
are
going
to
read
your
own
book
or
eat
at
your
favorite
restaurant.
These
selfish
moments
are
good
ways
to
teach
our
children
that
we
are
important
too.
When
you
ask
my
kids
“What
does
Mom
like?”,
they
can
answer
with
some
of
my
interests
and
favorite
things:
reading
books,
watching
movies,
taking
care
of
animals
and
them.
They
often
see
me
do
the
things
I
enjoy,
so
they
understand
me
and
would
stay
with
Dad.
This
understanding
is
good
for
our
children.
“She's
a
mom”
shouldn't
be
the
only
way
your
child
describes
you.
If
it
is,
it's
time
to
be
a
little
selfish,
Moms.
( )31.Why
did
the
woman
leave
her
children
quickly?
A.She
had
little
time
left
that
day.
B.She
tried
not
to
change
her
mind.
C.She
didn't
want
to
explain
herself.
D.She
had
many
things
to
do
that
day.
( )32.What
does
the
underlined
part
“it's
so
much
harder
to
walk
the
talk”
in
Paragraph
3
mean?
A.It's
easier
said
than
done.
B.It's
harder
to
make
a
start.
C.It's
harder
to
keep
our
word.
D.It's
not
easy
to
take
a
walk.
( )33.Why
do
the
woman's
kids
know
her
favorites?
A.They
have
the
same
interests.
B.They
often
do
things
together.
C.They
often
see
what
she's
doing.
D.Their
dad
tells
them
about
her
interests.
( )34.The
purpose
of
the
passage
is
to
tell
Moms
________.
A.how
to
be
a
good
mother
at
home
B.to
enjoy
staying
with
their
kids
C.how
to
become
a
cool
mom
to
your
kids
D.to
stop
always
putting
their
kids
first
Ⅵ.语法填空
Ten
years
ago,
I
used
to
be
very
fit.
I
rode
a
bike
to
work
and
I
got
a
lot
of
exercise
at
weekends.
In
those
days
I
didn't
earn
very
much,
but
I
had
a
lot
of
time
to
do
the
things
I
enjoyed
35.________(do).
Then,
about
eight
years
ago,
I
got
a
much
better
job.
The
pay
was
better,
but
the
hours
were
a
lot
36.________(long).
I
bought
a
car
and
drove
to
work
every
day.
I
stopped
going
for
long
walks
at
weekends
37.________
I
just
didn't
have
any
time
for
things
like
that
anymore.
As
a
result,
I
began
to
put
on
38.________(weigh).
There's
a
lot
of
39.________(stress)
in
my
job.
Perhaps
that's
why
I
started
drinking
more
than
I
used
to.
40.________
example,
instead
of
having
only
half
a
glass
of
whisky,
I
would
have
several
ones
when
I
got
home.
I
also
started
smoking
a
lot,
although
I
41.________
used
to
smoke
at
all.
Two
months
ago,
I
had
a
heart
attack.
42.________(luck),
it
wasn't
very
serious.
The
doctor
advised
me
43.________(work)
less
and
get
more
exercise.
But
I
just
didn't
have
any
time!
My
job
takes
everything
out
of
me!
Sometimes
I
wonder
if
I
should
get
another
job.
Perhaps
I
could
do
something
like
I
used
to
do.
But
if
I
do
that,
I
won't
earn
as
much.
I
have
a
family
to
support.
I
have
to
think
of
them,
too.
I
just
don't
know
44.________
I
should
do.
答案
Ⅰ.1.private/personal 2.European

Ⅱ.6.wear 7.smoking 8.shyness

Ⅴ.31.B 推理判断题。根据第一段中“Then
I
ran
away
before
they
could
say
something.
But
the
guilty
feelings
slowly
went
away.”可知妈妈怕自己对不带孩子感到内疚,会改变主意,所以很快离开,故选B。
32.A 句意猜测题。根据上文“I
know
parenting
articles
often
tell
us
it's
OK
to
take
time
for
ourselves.”可知父母为自己花费些时间是可以的,下文But表示转折,可猜出“it's
so
much
harder
to
walk
the
talk”这句话的意思应该是说起来容易做起来难,故选A。
33.C
34.D 主旨大意题。根据文章内容可知,本文介绍了妈妈在日常生活中照顾孩子的同时,应该有自己的兴趣和爱好,不应该总是把孩子放在第一位,这样做对孩子有好处。故选D。

Ⅴ.阅读理解
As
a
student,
I
was
most
afraid
to
answer
questions
in
class,
and
I
found
that
the
students
around
were
just
like
me.At
the
beginning
of
each
class,
when
the
teacher
asked
a
question,
I
always
lowered
my
head
because
I
was
afraid
that
the
teacher
saw
me.
One
day,
in
a
foreign
language
class,
Mr.Black
gave
us
a
lesson.He
wanted
us
to
be
active
in
class.So
he
asked
us
some
questions,
but
no
one
answered.“Let
me
tell
you
a
story
first,”
he
said.
“When
I
came
to
the
United
States
to
study,
the
university
often
invited
famous
people
to
make
speeches.Before
the
beginning
of

speech,

thing.The

around
me
always
took
a
cardboard
folded(折叠的)
in
half,
wrote
their
names
in
bold
with
the
most
eye?catching(引人注目的)
color;
and
then
placed
the
cardboard
on
the
seat.
So
when
the
speaker
needed
the
answers
from
the
students,
he
could
see
and
call
a
listener's
name
directly.
I
couldn't
understand
that.My
classmate
told
me
the
speakers
were
all
top
people,
who
meant
chances.When
your
answer
was
to
his
surprise,
it
meant
he
might
give
you
more
chances.In
fact,
I
really
saw
a
few
students
got
great
chances
because
of
that.”
After
listening
to
the
story,
I
understood
that
the
chance
will
not
find
you
itself.You
must
show
yourself
all
the
time
so
that
you
can
find
a
chance
on
the
card.
