Module 4 Unit 1 Advertising
I. Analysis of the teaching material:
This is the 1st period of Unit One. Students will be asked to talk about four different advertisements, including two commercial ads as well as two public service ads. Students are expected to get involved in the discussion, practice their spoken English and participate in all the activities designed. The learning of the two public service ads for Earth Day and an anti-drugs campaign as well as the activities related to Liuyang all meet the goal of moral education in this part.
II. Teaching aims:
1. To make students be familiar with the topic of this unit and be interested in learning it.
2. To make students get some ideas of the two main types of ads and their respective purposes.
3. To practice students’ oral English.
III. Teaching important point:
How to develop students’ speaking ability by expressing their opinions in the activities
IV. Teaching difficult point:
How to help students to design a slogan and an ad by using what they have learned in this part
V. Teaching methods:
Co-operative learning, Communicative language learning, Task-based approach…
