第二部分
(共两节,满分50分)
第一节
阅读理解(共15小题;每小题2.5分,满分37.5分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
There
is
an
old
saying
that
America
and
Britain
are
“two
nations
divided
by
a
common
language.”
No
one
knows
exactly
who
said
this,
but
it
reflects
the
way
many
Brits
feel
about
American
English.
But
are
American
and
British
English
really
so
different?
Vocabulary
The
most
obvious
difference
between
American
and
British
English
is
vocabulary.
There
are
hundreds
of
everyday
words
that
are
different.
For
example,
Americans
go
on
vacation
while
Brits
go
on
holidays;
New
Yorkers
live
in
apartments
while
Londoners
live
in
flats.
There
are
far
more
examples
than
we
can
talk
about
here.
Fortunately,
most
Americans
and
Brits
can
usually
guess
the
meaning
through
the
context
of
a
sentence.
Past
Tense
Verbs
You’ll
also
find
some
differences
with
past
forms
of
irregular
verbs.
The
past
tense
of
“learn”
in
American
English
is
“learned”.
British
English
has
the
option(选择)
of
“learned”
or
“learnt”.
The
same
rule
applies
to
“dreamed”
and
“dreamt”,
“burned”
and
“burnt”,
and
“leaned”
and
“leant”.
Americans
tend
to
use
the
-ed
ending;
Brits
tend
to
use
the-t
ending.
Spelling
There
are
hundreds
of
slight
spelling
differences
between
British
and
American
English.
Noah
Webster,
an
author,
politician
and
teacher,
made
an
effort
to
reform
English
spelling
in
the
late
1700s.
Webster
wanted
to
spell
words
the
way
they
sounded.
You
can
see
Webster’s
legacy(遗产)
in
the
American
spelling
of
words
like
color
(from
colour),
honor
(from
honour),
and
labor(from
labour).
Not
So
Different
After
All
British
and
American
English
have
far
more
similarities
than
differences.
With
the
exception
of
some
regional
dialects,
most
Brits
and
Americans
can
understand
each
other
without
too
much
difficulty.
They
watch
each
other’s
TV
shows,
sing
each
other’s
songs
and
read
each
other’s
books.
They
even
make
fun
of
each
others’
accents.
21.Which
of
the
following
is
a
group
of
American
words?
A.
Vacation;
apartment.
B.
Vacation;
holiday.
C.
Apartment;
flat.
D.
Holiday;
flat.
22.What
do
we
know
about
British
and
American
English
from
the
last
paragraph?
A.
Their
differences
have
little
effect
on
communication.
B.
They
connect
people
of
the
two
countries.
C.
They
are
affecting
people
using
them.
D.
They
both
have
some
strange
words.
23.What
can
be
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.
Difficulty
for
Brits
and
Americans
to
understand
each
other.
B.
Ways
to
tell
British
English
from
American
English.
C.
Differences
between
British
and
American
English.
D.
Development
of
British
and
American
English.
B
Mandara
seemed
to
know
something
big
was
about
to
happen.
So
she
let
out
a
yell,
caught
hold
of
her
2-year-old
daughter
Kibibi
and
climbed
up
into
a
tree.
She
lives
at
the
National
Zoo
in
Washington
D.C..
And
on
Tuesday,
August
23rd,
witnesses
said
she
seemed
to
sense
the
big
earthquake
that
shook
much
of
the
East
Coast
before
any
humans
knew
what
was
going
on.
And
she’s
not
the
only
one.
In
the
moments
before
the
quake,
an
orangutan
(猩猩)
let
out
a
loud
call
and
then
climbed
to
the
top
of
her
shelter.
“It’s
very
different
from
their
normal
call,”
said
Brandie
Smith,
the
zookeeper.
“The
lemurs
(monkey
like
animals
of
Madagascar)
will
sound
an
alarm
if
they
see
or
hear
something
highly
unusual.”
But
you
can’t
see
or
hear
an
earthquake
15
minutes
before
it
happens,
can
you?
Maybe
you
can
if
you’re
an
animal.
“Animals
can
hear
above
and
below
our
range
of
hearing,”
said
Brandie
Smith.
“That’s
part
of
their
special
abilities.
They’re
more
sensitive
to
the
environment,
which
is
how
they
survive.”
Primates
weren’t
the
only
animals
that
seemed
to
sense
the
quake
before
it
happened.
One
of
the
elephants
made
a
warning
sound
and
a
huge
lizard
(蜥蜴)
ran
quickly
for
cover.
The
flamingoes
(a
kind
of
birds)
gathered
before
the
quake
and
stayed
together
until
the
shaking
stopped.
So
what
kind
of
vibrations
(震动)
were
the
animals
picking
up
in
the
moments
before
the
quake?
Scientist
Susan
Hough
said
earthquakes
produce
two
types
of
waves——a
weak
“P”
wave
and
then
a
much
stronger
“S”
wave.
The
“P”
stands
for
“primary”.
And
the
“S”
stands
for
“secondary”.
She
thinks
the
“P”
wave
might
be
what
sets
the
animals
off.
Not
all
the
animals
behaved
unusually
before
the
quake.
For
example,
Smith
said
the
zoo’s
giant
pandas
didn’t
jump
up
until
the
shaking
actually
began.
But
many
of
the
other
animals
seemed
to
know
something
was
coming
before
it
happened.
“I’m
not
surprised
at
all,”
Smith
said.
24.
Why
did
Mandara
act
strangely
one
day?
A.
Because
an
earthquake
had
happened.
B.
Because
its
daughter
Kibibi
was
injured.
C.
Because
it
heard
an
orangutan
let
out
a
loud
call.
D.
Because
it
sensed
something
unusual
would
happen.
25.
According
to
Brandie
Smith,_____________.
A.
humans
can
also
develop
the
ability
to
sense
a
quake.
B.
primates
usually
gather
together
before
a
quake.
C.
earthquakes
produce
two
types
of
waves.
D.
many
animals
hearing
is
sharp.
26.
Which
animal
seems
unable
to
sense
quake?
A.
A
lemur.
B.
A
flamingo.
C.
A
giant
panda.
D.
A
lizard.
27.
What
is
the
best
title
for
the
passage?
A.
How
animals
protect
their
young
in
a
quake
B.
How
animals
behave
before
a
quake
C.
How
animals
differ
from
humans
D.
How
animals
survive
a
quake
C
Dieting
to
lose
weight
has
become
very
popular
in
recent
years.
People
have
become
more
health
conscious
and
try
to
take
better
care
of
their
bodies
by
eating
more
healthily
and
exercising
more
regularly
to
lose
any
unnecessary
fat
that
they
may
have.
Not
only
are
people
being
more
careful
about
what
they
eat,
they
are
also
concerned
with
how
they
eat
and
how
their
meals
are
prepared.
People
are
taking
more
time
for
each
meal.
Many
avoid
the
so-called“plastic"
fast-food
hamburgers
and
choose
to
eat
a
salad
or
a
sandwich
of
more
healthful
ingredients
in
a
quiet
restaurant
with
a
more
comfortable
atmosphere.
At
home,
they
also
try
to
take
enough
time
to
eat
a
relaxed
dinner
without
phone
or
TV
interruptions.
While
dieting
may
be
viewed
as
beneficial,
it
has
also
become
a
serious
problem
for
Americans,
particularly
for
young
women.
Dieting
for
them
has
actually
become
a
psychological
(心理的)
addiction.
They
eat
so
little
that
they
can
lose
as
much
as
fifty
percent
of
their
total
body
weight,
and
although
they
look
like
skeletons,
they
still
insist
that
they
are
fat.
The
current
wave
of
exercising,
dieting
and
the
problems
produced
have
caused
many
organizations
to
begin
educating
the
public.
Many
schools,
hospitals,
health
organizations,
newspapers
and
magazines,
for
example,
are
offering
classes,
printing
articles
and
so
on
to
inform
the
public
of
the
way
to
exercise
and
diet
of
the
dangers
of
dieting
too
rapidly,
and
of
the
places
people
can
go
for
medical
help
if
they
find
themselves
on
the
road
to“diet
addiction”(饮食上瘾).
28.
These
days
people
are
dieting
more
because______.
A.
They
eat
more
healthily.
B.
They
are
getting
fatter
and
fatter.
C.
They
realize
the
danger
of
junk
food.
D.
They
have
become
more
health-conscious.
29.
Which
way
of
eating
is
strongly
advised
in
the
passage?
A.
Enjoying
food
with
phones
on.
B.
Eating
in
a
relaxed
atmosphere.
C.
Avoiding
a
salad
or
a
sandwich.
D.
Finishing
dinner
in
a
short
time.
30.
In
the
third
paragraph
“they
look
like
skeletons”
most
probably
means
___________.
A.
They
are
too
thin.
B.
They
are
very
ugly.
C.
They
are
very
pretty.
D.
They
are
starving.
31.
What
is
the
last
paragraph
mainly
about?
A.
What
kind
of
media
can
be
used
to
educate
the
public.
B.
Where
people
with
dieting
addiction
can
go
for
help.
C.
How
the
organizations
try
to
help
people
with
dieting
addiction.

D
Bessie
Coleman
was
born
in
Atlanta,
Texas,
in
1892.
Her
mother
was
African
American.
Her
father
was
part
African
American
and
part
American
Indian.
Her
family
was
poor.
Bessie
had
to
walk
more
than
six
kilometers
to
go
to
school.
Bessie
had
to
pick
cotton
and
wash
clothes
to
help
earn
money
for
her
family.
She
was
able
to
save
a
little
money
and
went
to
college
in
the
state
of
Oklahoma.
She
was
in
college
only
one
year
because
she
did
not
have
enough
money
to
complete
her
studies.
But
during
that
year,
she
learned
about
flying.
She
read
about
the
first
flight
of
the
Wright
brothers
and
the
first
American
female
pilot
Harriet
Quimby.
When
she
was
23,
Bessie
Coleman
moved
to
Chicago,
Illinois
to
live
with
two
of
her
older
brothers.
There,
she
heard
stories
from
pilots
who
were
returning
from
World
War
I.
She
decided
she
was
going
to
learn
how
to
fly
airplanes.
But
she
soon
found
this
to
be
almost
impossible.
What
flight
school
would
admit
a
black
woman?
Bessie
learned
that
she
would
have
a
better
chance
in
Europe.
She
began
to
study
French
at
a
language
school
in
Chicago.
Soon
after
the
end
of
World
War
I,
Bessie
Coleman
left
for
France.
She
attended
the
famous
flight
school,
Ecole
d'Aviation
des
Freres
Caudron.
She
completed
seven
months
of
flight
training.
Coleman
earned
her
international
permit
to
fly
in
1921
and
she
became
the
first
black
woman
pilot.
Coleman
returned
to
Chicago.
She
was
the
only
black
female
pilot
in
the
United
States.
So
her
story
became
popular
in
African
American
newspapers.
She
was
asked
by
the
Dallas
Express
newspaper
in
Texas
why
she
wanted
to
fly.
She
said
that
women
and
blacks
must
have
pilots
if
they
were
to
keep
up
with
the
times.
32.
Bessie
Coleman
walked
to
school
every
day
probably
because
.
A.
she
wanted
to
do
physical
exercise.
B.
she
couldn't
afford
to
take
the
bus.
C.
she
was
stronger
than
others.
D.
she
lived
close
to
her
school.
33.
What
does
the
underlined
word"this"in
Paragraph
3
refer
to?
A.
Learning
French
in
Chicago.
B.
Living
with
her
brothers.
C.
Attending
flight
school.
D.
Going
to
Europe.
34.
What
happened
to
Bessie
Coleman
during
her
stay
in
France?
A.
She
earned
a
large
amount
of
money.
B.
She
made
many
good
foreign
friends.
C.
She
became
a
soldier
in
World
War
Ⅰ.
D.
She
received
a
pilot's
permit.
35.
What
can
we
learn
from
Bessie
Coleman's
story?
A.
Nothing
is
impossible
to
a
willing
heart.
B.
Actions
speak
louder
than
words.
C.
Failure
is
the
mother
of
success.

Remember
that
there
are
always
people
to
help
you.
Don't
take
it
out
on
yourself.
38
.
Try
to
solve
the
problem.
After
you're
calm
and
you
have
support
from
adults
and
friends,
it's
time
to
get
down
to
business.
39
.
Even
if
you
can't
solve
it
all,
you
can
solve
a
piece
of
it.
Be
positive.
Most
stress
is
temporary.
Remember
stress
does
go
away,
especially
when
you
figure
out
the
problem
and
start
working
on
solving
it.
These
steps
aren't
magic,
but
they
do
work.
And
if
you
can
stay
positive
as
you
make
your
way
through
a
tough
time,
you'll
help
yourself
feel
better
even
faster.
40
.
A.
Ask
for
a
helping
hand
to
get
you
through
the
tough
situation.
B.
Notice
your
friends'
feelings
and
find
a
way
to
help
them.
C.
Different
people
feel
stress
in
different
ways.
D.
You
need
to
figure
out
what
the
problem
is.
E.
Ah,
it
feels
so
good
when
the
stress
is
gone.
F.
And
don't
forget
about
your
friends.
G.
Then,
find
a
way
to
calm
down.

A

each

and
went
out

to

The

Suddenly,
I

rolling
down
the
side
of
the

towards
the

flowing

leaving

For
a
time,
at

we
were

the
lava
grew

bigger.
My

gave
me
a

we

When
there

news
that
a

Sarah
didn’t
think
much
about
it.
She
simply
shrugged
it
off
(耸了耸肩)like

When
she

she

People

Bare

made
Sarah

They

overreacting,
she

On

she

overhead.
Dark

And
they

Still,
Sarah

The

When
she

Sarah

Rain

down
hard,
making
it

Cooper

“It’s

Sarah

Sarah

all
of

By

“That

aloud.
“Just

She

had
gone
back
to

第一节
阅读理解(共15小题;每小题2.5分,满分37.5分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
There
is
an
old
saying
that
America
and
Britain
are
“two
nations
divided
by
a
common
language.”
No
one
knows
exactly
who
said
this,
but
it
reflects
the
way
many
Brits
feel
about
American
English.
But
are
American
and
British
English
really
so
different?
Vocabulary
The
most
obvious
difference
between
American
and
British
English
is
vocabulary.
There
are
hundreds
of
everyday
words
that
are
different.
For
example,
Americans
go
on
vacation
while
Brits
go
on
holidays;
New
Yorkers
live
in
apartments
while
Londoners
live
in
flats.
There
are
far
more
examples
than
we
can
talk
about
here.
Fortunately,
most
Americans
and
Brits
can
usually
guess
the
meaning
through
the
context
of
a
sentence.
Past
Tense
Verbs
You’ll
also
find
some
differences
with
past
forms
of
irregular
verbs.
The
past
tense
of
“learn”
in
American
English
is
“learned”.
British
English
has
the
option(选择)
of
“learned”
or
“learnt”.
The
same
rule
applies
to
“dreamed”
and
“dreamt”,
“burned”
and
“burnt”,
and
“leaned”
and
“leant”.
Americans
tend
to
use
the
-ed
ending;
Brits
tend
to
use
the-t
ending.
Spelling
There
are
hundreds
of
slight
spelling
differences
between
British
and
American
English.
Noah
Webster,
an
author,
politician
and
teacher,
made
an
effort
to
reform
English
spelling
in
the
late
1700s.
Webster
wanted
to
spell
words
the
way
they
sounded.
You
can
see
Webster’s
legacy(遗产)
in
the
American
spelling
of
words
like
color
(from
colour),
honor
(from
honour),
and
labor(from
labour).
Not
So
Different
After
All
British
and
American
English
have
far
more
similarities
than
differences.
With
the
exception
of
some
regional
dialects,
most
Brits
and
Americans
can
understand
each
other
without
too
much
difficulty.
They
watch
each
other’s
TV
shows,
sing
each
other’s
songs
and
read
each
other’s
books.
They
even
make
fun
of
each
others’
accents.
21.Which
of
the
following
is
a
group
of
American
words?
A.
Vacation;
apartment.
B.
Vacation;
holiday.
C.
Apartment;
flat.
D.
Holiday;
flat.
22.What
do
we
know
about
British
and
American
English
from
the
last
paragraph?
E.
Their
differences
have
little
effect
on
communication.
F.
They
connect
people
of
the
two
countries.
G.
They
are
affecting
people
using
them.
H.
They
both
have
some
strange
words.
23.What
can
be
the
best
title
for
the
text?
E.
Difficulty
for
Brits
and
Americans
to
understand
each
other.
F.
Ways
to

English

English.
G.

she’s
not
the
only
one.
In
the
moments
before
the
quake,
an
orangutan
(猩猩)
let
out
a
loud
call
and
then
climbed
to
the
top
of
her
shelter.
“It’s
very
different
from
their
normal
call,”
said
Brandie
Smith,
the
zookeeper.
“The
lemurs
(monkey
like
animals
of
Madagascar)
will
sound
an
alarm
if
they
see
or
hear
something
highly
unusual.”
But
you
can’t
see
or
hear
an
earthquake
15
minutes
before
it
happens,
can
you?
Maybe
you
can
if
you’re
an
animal.
“Animals
can
hear
above
and
below
our
range
of
hearing,”
said
Brandie
Smith.
“That’s
part
of
their
special
abilities.
They’re
more
sensitive
to
the
environment,
which
is
how
they
survive.”
Primates
weren’t
the
only
animals
that
seemed
to
sense
the
quake
before
it
happened.
One
of
the
elephants
made
a
warning
sound
and
a
huge
lizard
(蜥蜴)
ran
quickly
for
cover.
The
flamingoes
(a
kind
of
birds)
gathered
before
the
quake
and
stayed
together
until
the
shaking
stopped.
So
what
kind
of
vibrations
(震动)
were
the
animals
picking
up
in
the
moments
before
the
quake?
Scientist
Susan
Hough
said
earthquakes
produce
two
types
of
waves——a
weak
“P”
wave
and
then
a
much
stronger
“S”
wave.
The
“P”
stands
for
“primary”.
And
the
“S”
stands
for
“secondary”.
She
thinks
the
“P”
wave
might
be
what
sets
the
animals
off.
Not
all
the
animals
behaved
unusually
before
the
quake.
For
example,
Smith
said
the
zoo’s
giant
pandas
didn’t
jump
up
until
the
shaking
actually
began.
But
many
of
the
other
animals
seemed
to
know
something
was
coming
before
it
happened.
“I’m
not
surprised
at
all,”
Smith
said.
36.

Dieting
to
lose
weight
has
become
very
popular
in
recent
years.
People
have
become
more
health
conscious
and
try
to
take
better
care
of
their
bodies
by
eating
more
healthily
and
exercising
more
regularly
to
lose
any
unnecessary
fat
that
they
may
have.
Not
only
are
people
being
more
careful
about
what
they
eat,
they
are
also
concerned
with
how
they
eat
and
how
their
meals
are
prepared.
People
are
taking
more
time
for
each
meal.
Many
avoid
the
so-called“plastic"
fast-food
hamburgers
and
choose
to
eat
a
salad
or
a
sandwich
of
more
healthful
ingredients
in
a
quiet
restaurant
with
a
more
comfortable
atmosphere.
At
home,
they
also
try
to
take
enough
time
to
eat
a
relaxed
dinner
without
phone
or
TV
interruptions.
While
dieting
may
be
viewed
as
beneficial,
it
has
also
become
a
serious
problem
for
Americans,
particularly
for
young
women.
Dieting
for
them
has
actually
become
a
psychological
(心理的)
addiction.
They
eat
so
little
that
they
can
lose
as
much
as
fifty
percent
of
their
total
body
weight,
and
although
they
look
like
skeletons,
they
still
insist
that
they
are
fat.
The
current
wave
of
exercising,
dieting
and
the
problems
produced
have
caused
many
organizations
to
begin
educating
the
public.
Many
schools,
hospitals,
health
organizations,
newspapers
and
magazines,
for
example,
are
offering
classes,
printing
articles
and
so
on
to
inform
the
public
of
the
way
to
exercise
and
diet
of
the
dangers
of
dieting
too
rapidly,
and
of
the
places
people
can
go
for
medical
help
if
they
find
themselves
on
the
road
to“diet
addiction”.
40.
These
days
people
are
dieting
more
because______.
A.
They
eat
more
healthily.
B.
They
are
getting
fatter
and
fatter.
C.
They
realize
the
danger
of
junk
food.
D.
They
have
become
more
health-conscious.
41.
Which
way
of
eating
is
strongly
advised
in
the
passage?
A.
Enjoying
food
with
phones
on.
B.
Eating
in
a
relaxed
atmosphere.
C.
Avoiding
a
salad
or
a
sandwich.
D.
Finishing
dinner
in
a
short
time.
42.
In
the
third
paragraph
“they
look
like
skeletons”
most
probably
means
___________.
A.
They
are
too
thin.
B.
They
are
very
ugly.
C.
They
are
very
pretty.
D.
They
are
starving.
43.
What
is
the
last
paragraph
mainly
about?
E.
What
kind
of
media
can
be
used
to
educate
the
public.
F.
Where
people
with
dieting
addiction
can
go
for
help.
G.
How

D
Bessie
Coleman
was
born
in
Atlanta,
Texas,
in
1892.
Her
mother
was
African
American.
Her
father
was
part
African
American
and
part
American
Indian.
Her
family
was
poor.
Bessie
had
to
walk
more
than
six
kilometers
to
go
to
school.
Bessie
had
to
pick
cotton
and
wash
clothes
to
help
earn
money
for
her
family.
She
was
able
to
save
a
little
money
and
went
to
college
in
the
state
of
Oklahoma.
She
was
in
college
only
one
year
because
she
did
not
have
enough
money
to
complete
her
studies.
But
during
that
year,
she
learned
about
flying.
She
read
about
the
first
flight
of
the
Wright
brothers
and
the
first
American
female
pilot
Harriet
Quimby.
When
she
was
23,
Bessie
Coleman
moved
to
Chicago,
Illinois
to
live
with
two
of
her
older
brothers.
There,
she
heard
stories
from
pilots
who
were
returning
from
World
War
I.
She
decided
she
was
going
to
learn
how
to
fly
airplanes.
But
she
soon
found
this
to
be
almost
impossible.
What
flight
school
would
admit
a
black
woman?
Bessie
learned
that
she
would
have
a
better
chance
in
Europe.
She
began
to
study
French
at
a
language
school
in
Chicago.
Soon
after
the
end
of
World
War
I,
Bessie
Coleman
left
for
France.
She
attended
the
famous
flight
school,
Ecole
d'Aviation
des
Freres
Caudron.
She
completed
seven
months
of
flight
training.
Coleman
earned
her
international
permit
to
fly
in
1921
and
she
became
the
first
black
woman
pilot.
Coleman
returned
to
Chicago.
She
was
the
only
black
female
pilot
in
the
United
States.
So
her
story
became
popular
in
African
American
newspapers.
She
was
asked
by
the
Dallas
Express
newspaper
in
Texas
why
she
wanted
to
fly.
She
said
that
women
and
blacks
must
have
pilots
if
they
were
to
keep
up
with
the
times.
44.
Bessie
Coleman
walked
to
school
every
day
probably
because
.
E.
she
wanted
to
do
physical
exercise.
F.
she
couldn't
afford
to
take
the
bus.
G.
she
was
stronger
than
others.
H.
she
lived
close
to
her
school.
45.
What
does
the
underlined
word"this"in
Paragraph

refer
to?
E.
Learning
French
in
Chicago.
F.
Living
with
her
brothers.
G.
Attending
flight
school.
H.
Going
to
Europe.
46.
What
happened
to
Bessie
Coleman
during
her
stay
in
France?
E.
She
earned
a
large
amount
of
money.
F.
She
made
many
good
foreign
friends.
G.
She
became
a
soldier
in
World
War
Ⅰ.
H.
She
received
a
pilot's
permit.
47.
What
can
we
learn
from
Bessie
Coleman's
story?
E.
Nothing
is
impossible
to
a
willing
heart.
F.
Actions
speak
louder
than
words.
G.
Failure
is
the
mother
of
success.

Kids'

Four
steps
for
fighting
stress(压力)
Everybody
gets
stressed
from
time
to
time.
36
.
Some
ways
of
dealing
with
stress
-
like
screaming
or
hitting
someone
-
don't
solve
much.
But
other
ways,
like
talking
to
someone
you
trust,
can
lead
you
to
solving
your
problem
or
at
least
feeling
better.
Try
taking
these
four
steps
the
next
time
you
are
stressed:
Get
support.
When
you
need
help,
reach
out
to
the
people
who
care
about
you.
Talk
to
trusted
adult
such
as
“parent
or
other
relatives.”
37
.
They
might
have
had
similar
problems,
such
as
dealing
with
a
test,
or
the
death
of
a
beloved
pet.
Don't
take
it
out
on
yourself.
Sometimes
when
kids
are
stressed
and
upset
they
take
it
out
on
themselves.
Oh,
dear,
that's
not
a
good
idea.
Remember
that
there
are
always
people
to
help
you.
Don't
take
it
out
on
yourself.
38
.
Try
to
solve
the
problem.
After
you're
calm
and
you
have
support
from
adults
and
friends,
it's
time
to
get
down
to
business.
39
.
Even
if
you
can't
solve
it
all,
you
can
solve
a
piece
of
it.
Be
positive.
Most
stress
is
temporary.
Remember
stress
does
go
away,
especially
when
you
figure
out
the
problem
and
start
working
on
solving
it.
These
steps
aren't
magic,
but
they
do
work.
And
if
you
can
stay
positive
as
you
make
your
way
through
a
tough
time,
you'll
help
yourself
feel
better
even
faster.
40
.
H.
Ask
for
a
helping
hand
to
get
you
through
the
tough
situation.
I.
Notice
your
friends'
feelings
and
find
a
way
to
help
them.
J.
Different
people
feel
stress
in
different
ways.
K.
You
need
to
figure
out
what
the
problem
is.
L.
Ah,
it
feels
so
good
when
the
stress
is
gone.
M.
And
don't
forget
about
your
friends.
N.
Then,
find
a
way
to
calm
down.

When
there
was
news
that
a
storm
was
coming,
Sarah
didn’t
think
much
about
it.
She
simply
shrugged
it
off
(耸了耸肩)like
any
other
normal
day.
When
she
went
to
the
grocery
store
and
saw
that
it
was
full,
she
still
didn’t
worry.
People
ran
like
mad
between
aisles
(过道),
grabbing
what
they
could.
Bare
shelves(空无一物的架子)
and
long
lines
made
Sarah
chuckle
(窃笑).
They
must
be
overreacting,
she
thought.
On
her
way
home,
she
looked
overhead.
Dark
clouds
were
indeed
forming.
And
they
seemed
to
be
moving
quickly
across
the
sky.
Still,
Sarah
was
not
bothered.
The
rain
would
be
nice
since
it
had
been
warm
lately.
When
she
got
home,
Sarah
made
popcorn
and
sat
on
the
sofa
with
her
dog,
Cooper,
and
got
ready
to
watch
a
movie.
Just
as
she
hit
play
on
the
remote,
she
heard
the
thunder.
Rain
started
to
come
down
hard,
making
it
almost
impossible
to
see
the
trees
in
her
front
yard
through
the
window.
Cooper
immediately
jumped
from
the
sofa,
barking
in
fear
in
the
corner.
“It’s
OK.”
Sarah
said.
She
moved
to
one
side
and
saw
Cooper
looked
a
bit
nervous.
Sarah
turned
off
the
movie
and
instead
skipped
to
the
local
news
station.
The
storm
was
much
more
serious
than
she
had
thought.
People
in
a
nearby
city
even
said
they
spotted
a
tornado.
The
reporter
advised
people
to
stay
inside
and
secure
all
of
the
doors
and
windows.
Sarah
got
up
and
began
making
her
way
around
the
house.
Cooper
followed
close
behind
as
she
checked
all
of
the
windows
to
make
sure
they
were
all
fully
closed.
By
the
time
she
got
back
to
her
sofa,
the
rain
had
stopped.
“That
wasn’t
so
bad,”
Sarah
said
aloud.
“Just
a
nice
shower.”
She
turned
to
cooper,
who
had
gone
back
to
the
corner
and
still
looked
a
bit
frightened.
She
looked
outside.
It
was
actually
very
calm,
but
she
could
see
that
the
wind
was
picking
up.
The
branches
of
the
trees
were
swinging
and
the
garbage
bin
had
tipped
over.

读后续写(满分25分)
Obviously,
a
storm
was
on
its
way.
Sarah
saw
something
like
a
gray
funnel
moving
in
the
distance.
Tornado!
In
a
flash,
with
a
burst
of
thunder,
rain
poured
down
once
again,
beating
heavily
against
the
windows.
The
wind
was
roaring
and
many
trees
were
uprooted.
The
storm
lasted
days,
which
made
Sarah
increasingly
nervous.
Cold
and
hungry,
she
regretted
she
had
made
no
preparations
for
the
terrible
weather!
Trapped
at
home,
Sarah
wondered
how
she
could
survive.
Just
then,
she
thought
of
the
community
helpline.
She
telephoned
to
state
her
difficulties.
An
hour
later,
Sarah
heard
a
knock
at
the
door
and
in
came
the
community
workers
with
food
and
necessities.
She
was
really
grateful
for
their
timely
help.
It
is
the
true
kindness
and
love
in
the
community
that
helped
her
survive
the
terrible
weather.
