Step I Presentation(新授部分)
1 Hobo has to build his new house on his own. He needs some tools. What tools do you think he needs?
2 Please open your books. Look at the young man in this picture. He loves DIY a lot. He has lots of tools.朗读这五种工具的英文名称,能掌握单词的正确读音。完成A部分的练习。
3讨论工具的用途:Boys and girls, do you know what these tools are used for?
Step II Activity(活动)
1 Millie and Suzy are also talking about DIY. Listen to them and tell me what Suzy is going to do today.播放录音。
2 Open your books, please. These two teams will read Millie's part and those two will read Suzy's part. Then change parts.
3 Boys and girls, it's your turn to talk about some DIY work that you would like to do. You have three minutes. You can use Millie and Suzy's conversation as a model.学生上台表演。

Grammar(第47~48页),展示祈使句和情态动词及短语should,had better.
Integrated skills(第49~50页),本课为听、说、读、写的综合训练课程。
教材分析
本课时语法课,主要则向学生要求学生掌握祈使句的构成方式和运用,同时学会使用情态动词should, had better进行提建议。
Integrated skills部分主要根据从录音中获取的信息完成如何做水果沙拉的提示题,以锻炼通过听力迅速找出主要信息的能力。从中找出细节信息,根据听力材料的细节内容完成相应的关于“做水果沙拉”的会话。

Step I Presentation(呈现)
1Suzy's cousin thinks he's good at DIY. Does his mother agree? Why do you think so?用祈使句来表达指令。
2总结祈使句的构成:We start a sentence with the base form of a verb when we want to tell people what to do. We add do not/don't in front of the verb when we want to tell people not to do something. We often add please in a sentence if we want to give instructions politely.
3 Now open your books and turn to page 47, please. Let's read the sentences together.

1 Please look at these four pictures. What's Millie doing? Do you know how to make cards? What should we do first?根据图片猜测生词cut的含义,教师领读并解释。

3 Here are some more sentences. Can you work out when to use should and had better?
4 We use should and had better when giving advice and telling people what we think is the best or right thing to do. The tone of had better is stronger than should.

教学内容
study skills&Task(第51~53页),study skills学习通过在一个独立的单词前添加几个字母,构成与原来单词意思相反或相对的意思。Task部分则是通过单元基础知识回顾,并运用所给的表达法写一篇“DIY”的短文。
教材分析
Study skills部分主要介绍了重要构词法–—否定前缀,Task部分为训练学生的写作能力,培养学生综合运用英语的能力。Self-assessment部分则是要求学生通过自我测试,反思己对本单元知识内容的掌握情况,以便于他们拾漏补缺,进一步完善对本单元知识的掌握。

Step I Presentation(新授)
1 We know salad is good for us. You can add anything you like to a salad. Is it healthy to add much sugar? No, it's not healthy. It's unhealthy.板书not healthy和unhealthy,带领学生朗读。
2讲解否定前缀un-的作用:By adding a group of letters to the front of an adjective, we can change its meaning. One of the most common prefixes for adjectives is un-. It means "not". We add it to some adjectives to give them the opposite meaning.接着介绍其他否定前缀in-和im-: We can also use some other prefixes, such as in- and im-, to form new words with opposite meaning.
3引导归纳:在本课学习的否定前缀中,in-从来都不会用在以字母1、r 开头的单词之前,im-—般用在以字母b、m或p开头的单词前,如:imperfect、 impossible。在基础较强的班级,教师可补充否定前缀ir-,并归纳其一般用在以字母r开头的单词前,如:irregular。
