【解析】
【分析】本文是篇说明文。文章讲述了Lin
Xu和他的团队为了鼓励人们杜绝浪费粮食,一起开发了一款名为“光盘”的手机应用软件以及开发这款软件的初衷、过程和影响。
【4题详解】
词义猜测题。文章第二段第一句
“The
"Clear
Plate"
mini-
program
has
become
popular
among
young
Chinese.”表明这个小型光盘活动已经在中国年轻人中受到欢迎。下面一句“Similar
campaigns
like
an
"empty
plate
challenge"
are
also
on
the
horizon
in
many
Chinese
universities.”提到的像“光盘挑战”这样的活动是类似的活动,而且这样的活动还有很多,此外在划线部分前面用了一个词“也”,可见这些活动很有可能在许多中国高校出现。由此猜测划线部分意为“可能会出现”。故选D。
【5题详解】
细节理解题。文章第三段“The
idea
popped
up
at
a
dinner
in
2017,
when
Liu
found
that
the
restaurant
owner
would
give
diners
who
polished
off
their
food
a
card
and
offer
small
gifts
after
a
certain
number
of
cards
had
been
collected.”表明这个想法是在2017年突然出现的,当时刘发现餐馆老板会给吃光食物的就餐者一张卡片,而且当就餐者收集到了一定数量的卡片时餐馆会提供小礼物。可见引起刘开发这个软件的原因就是受到餐馆老板的启发。故选B。
【6题详解】
细节理解题。文章第四段讲述刘的团队研发这款软件时遇到的困难,其中“Yet
it
was
quite
a
challenge
for
the
AI
system
to
assess
whether
the
uploaded
photos
showed
empty
plates.”告诉我们当时的一个挑战就是AI系统难以辨认上传的照片是否是光盘。可见评估上传照片是非常的困难的。故选B。
【7题详解】
主旨大意题。本篇文章第一段通过具体的例子引出话题,即一款为了鼓励杜绝浪费粮食,名为“光盘”的手机app。第二段讲述这款软件的影响,以及类似鼓励杜绝浪费粮食软件的出现。第三段讲述刘季晨开发这个软件的初衷。第四段讲述刘的团队在开发这款软件过程中出现的困难及为了鼓励人们节约粮食的最终目的。可见整篇文章讲述了AI程序鼓励就餐者光盘的事情,故选C。
C
Scientists
have
discovered
a
new
behaviour
among
bumblebees
that
tricks
plants
into
flowering
early.
When
lack
of
pollen,
bumblebees
will
bite
little
by
little
on
the
leaves
of
flower-less
plants.
The
damage
seems
to
fool
the
plant
into
flowering,
sometimes
up
to
30
days
earlier
than
normal.
With
their
hairy
appearance
and
special
sounds,
bumblebees
are
hard
to
miss
in
gardens
all
over
the
world.
Their
hairy
bodies
make
them
excellent
pollinators
for
crops
like
tomatoes
and
blueberries.
They
are
among
the
first
bees
to
appear
each
year
and
work
a
long
season.
But
despite
their
key
role,
bumblebees,
like
many
other
pollinators
have
seen
their
numbers
decline
suddenly
in
recent
decades.
One
recent
study
pointed
to
climate
change,
reporting
that
an
increasing
number
of
hot
days
in
Europe
and
North
America
was
raising
local
bumblebees
extinction
rates.
But
researchers
have
now
made
a
discovery
about
bumblebees
that
could
have
something
to
do
with
their
long
term
survival.
Scientists
in
Switzerland
found
that
when
the
bumblebees
were
out
of
pollen,
they
started
to
bite
on
the
leaves
of
plants
that
hadn't
yet
flowered.
They
used
their
mouths
to
cut
clearly-shaped
holes
in
the
leaves.
But
the
creatures
didn't
eat
the
material
or
use
it
in
their
nests.
The
damaged
plants
responded
by
flowering
earlier
than
normal-
-in
some
cases
up
to
30
days
ahead
of
schedule.
Researchers
also
found
that
the
bee
damaged
plants
flowered
30
days
earlier
than
undamaged
plants
and
25
days
earlier
than
ones
damaged
by
the
scientists.
“I
think
everything
that
we've
found
is
consistent
with
the
idea
that
the
bumblebees
are
damaging
the
plants
and
that
that's
an
adaptation
that
brings
flowers
earlier
and
that
benefits
the
bees,”
said
Dr
Mark
Mescher,
one
of
the
authors
from
ETH
Zurich.
8.
How
do
bumblebees
fool
plants
into
flowering
earlier?
A.
By
making
use
of
the
hot
weather.
B.
By
putting
the
false
flowers
on
the
leaves.
C.
By
attacking
the
leaves
of
flowerless
plants.
D.
By
taking
away
the
pollen
from
the
other
flowers.
9.
What's
bumblebees’
key
role?
A
Making
plants
flower
early.
B.
Spreading
pollen
to
flowers
and
plants.
C.
Sending
information
about
weather
change.
D.
Finding
out
whether
the

10.
What
has
happened
to
bumblebees
in
the
past
the
years?

Cycling
shorts,
however,
were
an
area
that
technology
had
yet
to
enter.
Little
was
added
to
them
apart
from,
perhaps,
some
padding
to
protect
a
rider.
Now,
however,
new
cycling
shorts
are
being
equipped
with
sensors
to
help
riders
defeat
opponents
easily.
A
British
start-up
has
created
a
pair
of
shorts
that
uses
electric
sensors
and
artificial
intelligence
to
shape
and
strengthen
cyclists'
muscles
while
they
are
moving.
It
plans
to
also
adapt
this
product
next
year
for
joggers
and
people
at
the
gym.
The
shorts,
created
by
Devon
Lewis,
a
PhD
student
at
the
University
of
Southampton,
are
able
to
send
out
tiny
electric
currents
into
a
user's
muscles
to
improve
their
cycling
technique.
Mr
Lewis,
27,
came
up
with
the
idea
after
studying
a
connection
between
the
brain
and
muscles
that
sends
chemical
signals
from
motor
neurons
to
muscle
fibres
to
make
the
muscle
contract
and
strengthen.
The
shorts,
created
by
Mr
Lewis's
start-up
bypass
this
connection
using
electric
cur
rents
to
build
muscle
strength
directly,
without
relying
on
the
brain
to
send
out
signals.
“We
have
a
limited
ability
to
control
our
muscles
naturally,”
Mr
Lewis
said.
“You
can
control
them
more
exactly,
get
more
from
your
muscles
and
contract
them
more
strongly,
if
you
stimulate
them
directly
with
electricity.”
Electric
wires
in
the
shorts
send
out
currents
that
activate
the
muscle.
“For
those
worried
about
getting
a
shock
while
cycling,”
Mr
Lewis
said,
“It's
sort
of
the
same
thing
as
when
you
have
spicy
food
and
you
get
that
little
rush.
It
feels
strange
when
you
first
start
using
it
but
then
you
adapt
to
it
quite
quickly.”
His
idea
has
received
support
from
Future
Worlds,
a
start-up
accelerator
at
Southampton
University.
The
product
is
being
shown
next
week
at
the
technology
conference
CES,
held
digitally
this
year.

Scientists
have
discovered
a
new
behaviour
among
bumblebees
that
tricks
plants
into
flowering
early.
When
lack
of
pollen,
bumblebees
will
bite
little
by
little
on
the
leaves
of
flower-less
plants.
The
damage
seems
to
fool
the
plant
into
flowering,
sometimes
up
to
30
days
earlier
than
normal.
With
their
hairy
appearance
and
special
sounds,
bumblebees
are
hard
to
miss
in
gardens
all
over
the
world.
Their
hairy
bodies
make
them
excellent
pollinators
for
crops
like
tomatoes
and
blueberries.
They
are
among
the
first
bees
to
appear
each
year
and
work
a
long
season.
But
despite
their
key
role,
bumblebees,
like
many
other
pollinators
have
seen
their
numbers
decline
suddenly
in
recent
decades.
One
recent
study
pointed
to
climate
change,
reporting
that
an
increasing
number
of
hot
days
in
Europe
and
North
America
was
raising
local
bumblebees
extinction
rates.
But
researchers
have
now
made
a
discovery
about
bumblebees
that
could
have
something
to
do
with
their
long
term
survival.
Scientists
in
Switzerland
found
that
when
the
bumblebees
were
out
of
pollen,
they
started
to
bite
on
the
leaves
of
plants
that
hadn't
yet
flowered.
They
used
their
mouths
to
cut
clearly-shaped
holes
in
the
leaves.
But
the
creatures
didn't
eat
the
material
or
use
it
in
their
nests.
The
damaged
plants
responded
by
flowering
earlier
than
normal-
-in
some
cases
up
to
30
days
ahead
of
schedule.
Researchers
also
found
that
the
bee
damaged
plants
flowered
30
days
earlier
than
undamaged
plants
and
25
days
earlier
than
ones
damaged
by
the
scientists.
“I
think
everything
that
we've
found
is
consistent
with
the
idea
that
the
bumblebees
are
damaging
the
plants
and
that
that's
an
adaptation
that
brings
flowers
earlier
and
that
benefits
the
bees,”
said
Dr
Mark
Mescher,
one
of
the
authors
from
ETH
Zurich.
8.
How
do
bumblebees
fool
plants
into
flowering
earlier?
A.
By
making
use
of
the
hot
weather.
B.
By
putting
the
false
flowers
on
the
leaves.
C.
By
attacking
the
leaves
of
flowerless
plants.
D.
By
taking
away
the
pollen
from
the
other
flowers.
9.
What's
bumblebees’
key
role?
A.
Making
plants
flower
early.
B.
Spreading
pollen
to
flowers
and
plants.
C.
Sending
information
about
weather
change.
D.
Finding
out
whether
the
plant
has
flowers.
10.
What
has
happened
to
bumblebees
in
the
past
the
years?
A.
They
are
becoming
homesick.
B.
They
are
not
as
friendly
as
before.
C.
There
is
a
sharp
decrease
in
number.
D.
They
have
been
busy
year
by
year.
11.
What's
Dr
Mark
Mescher's
attitude
towards
the
behaviour
of
bumblebees?
A.
Uncaring.
B.
Skeptical.
C.
Tolerant.
D.
Objective.

Cycling
has
long
been
a
sport
where
a
competitive
edge
is
pursued,
often
at
any
cost.
Cycling
shorts,
however,
were
an
area
that
technology
had
yet
to
enter.
Little
was
added
to
them
apart
from,
perhaps,
some
padding
to
protect
a
rider.
Now,
however,
new
cycling
shorts
are
being
equipped
with
sensors
to
help
riders
defeat
opponents
easily.
A
British
start-up
has
created
a
pair
of
shorts
that
uses
electric
sensors
and
artificial
intelligence
to
shape
and
strengthen
cyclists'
muscles
while
they
are
moving.
It
plans
to
also
adapt
this
product
next
year
for
joggers
and
people
at
the
gym.
The
shorts,
created
by
Devon
Lewis,
a
PhD
student
at
the
University
of
Southampton,
are
able
to
send
out
tiny
electric
currents
into
a
user's
muscles
to
improve
their
cycling
technique.
Mr
Lewis,
27,
came
up
with
the
idea
after
studying
a
connection
between
the
brain
and
muscles
that
sends
chemical
signals
from
motor
neurons
to
muscle
fibres
to
make
the
muscle
contract
and
strengthen.
The
shorts,
created
by
Mr
Lewis's
start-up
bypass
this
connection
using
electric
cur
rents
to
build
muscle
strength
directly,
without
relying
on
the
brain
to
send
out
signals.
“We
have
a
limited
ability
to
control
our
muscles
naturally,”
Mr
Lewis
said.
“You
can
control
them
more
exactly,
get
more
from
your
muscles
and
contract
them
more
strongly,
if
you
stimulate
them
directly
with
electricity.”
Electric
wires
in
the
shorts
send
out
currents
that
activate
the
muscle.
“For
those
worried
about
getting
a
shock
while
cycling,”
Mr
Lewis
said,
“It's
sort
of
the
same
thing
as
when
you
have
spicy
food
and
you
get
that
little
rush.
It
feels
strange
when
you
first
start
using
it
but
then
you
adapt
to
it
quite
quickly.”
His
idea
has
received
support
from
Future
Worlds,
a
start-up
accelerator
at
Southampton
University.
The
product
is
being
shown
next
week
at
the
technology
conference
CES,
held
digitally
this
year.

physical
exercise
is
very
important.
____16____
Exercise
makes
your
body
strong
and
helps
you
to
keep
the
right
body
weight.
Sports
scientists
offer
the
following
advice
to
teenagers.
____17____
Then
you
can
design
a
programme
that
will
help
you
become
healthier.
____18____
“Overweight”
means
that
the
person
gets
very
little
exercise
and
often
has
a
serious
weight
problem.“Inactive”
means
that
the
person
does
not
join
in
many
physical
activities,
but
is
not
seriously
overweight.
“Active”
refers
to
people
who
participate
in
sports
and
other
physical
activities,
but
do
not
have
a
high
fitness
level.
According
to
experts,
overweight
teenagers
should
work
out
to
keep
healthy.
Ride
a
bike,
play
volleyball
or
basketball
for
a
while,
and
go
for
a
twenty
minute
walk
each
day.
All
these
will
help
to
burn
calories.
Inactive
teenagers
should
do
similar
activities,
but
add
some
bending
and
stretching
exercises,
such
as
push-ups
and
sit-ups,
starting
with
twenty
of
each
a
day.
Inactive
people
can
take
a
little
more
exercise
than
overweight
people
because
their
bodies
are
stronger.
____19____
Experts
also
suggest
one
hour
a
week
or
more
on
running
and
other
forms
of
intensive
exercises,
together
with
fifteen
minutes
a
day
spent
on
stretching
and
bending
activities.
____20____
Some
weight-training
and
other
body-strengthening
exercises
could
also
be
planned
in
the
programme
in
order
to
increase
people's
strength
and
safety.
A.
It's
time
to
take
part
in
sport.

reduces
stress
and
improves
fitness.
C.
Sports
can
make
your
life
more
colorful.
D.
First,
find
out
your
present
level
of
fitness.
E.
The
same
rule
is
also
suitable
for
active
teenagers.
F.
They
