教材分析 本课是外研社新标准小学英语(一年级起点)四年级上册第一模块第一单元,课型为新授。本课通过Amy阅读好朋友的来信,复习巩固三年级下册初步接触的两个表示过去时态的单词was和were,为随后继续学习一般过去时态打下基础,同时复习一般现在时态和正在进行时态。本课的语用功能是介绍自己的新朋友。通过本课的学习,学生可以了解书信的格式,并且能够用英语介绍自己朋友的外貌和性格特征。
学情分析 本课的教学对象是四年级的学生,他们已经有了一定的英语基础,已经接触过本课出现的语法项目。他们在二年级学习了用正在进行时态描述正在发生的动作;在三年级学习了一般现在时态,以及表示过去时态的be动词was和were的简单使用。通过今天的学习,学生要巩固已学内容,同时感知书信格式,并学会用英语介绍自己的一个朋友。

(教师引导学生带着问题跟着点读录音进行朗读,提示学生要注意语音语调。同时,通过课文中小猪找座位的情境让学生感受was和is的区别,再次回顾was/were的使用时态。)

通过图片情境,完成猜猜游戏。让学生关注动词的第三人称单数变化,调动学生学习的积极性,突破学生对第三人称单数变化掌握的不是很好的教学难点。
