本模块主要是介绍自己的新朋友。上一单元主要讲述了Amy收到了好朋友Lucy的一封信件。而Unit2 的课文情境则是Amy给她的朋友Lucy 的回信。向Lucy 介绍了自己的新朋友Mengmeng以及她们在长城的照片。
教学目标:
Students will learn some useful words and sentence after this lesson, like dear, well, of, soon, and I’ve got….
Students’ skills of reading, listening and communication will be improved after this lesson.
Students will know how to write letter and how to describe something in past tense after this lesson.

Warm-up
1) Sing a song: “Children from China are Chinese”
2) Play the CD-ROM: find out the pig’s new friend.
T: Boys and girls, please look at the screen. The little pig has a new friend. Do you who is she/he?
Ss: No, I don’t.
T: Well, that’s ok. Let’s look at the video and check it out.
Play the CD-ROM.
T: Now, who can tell the answer?
Ss: It’s the tiger.
T: What’s he like?
Ss: He’s got short and yellow hair.

The song will draw students’ attention and make them ready for the class, at the same time, playing the CD-ROM will create a situation for them to have a review on the usage of “have got” “I’ve got” “She’s got” “He’s got”.
Presentation
Retell the letter of unit 1.
T: boys and girls, do you still remember the letter we learn last class?
Ss: yes!
T: great! Who can repeat it?
Predict Lucy’s reply.
T: everybody, will Amy write back to Lucy?
Ss: yes.
T: what will she write in her letter?
Ss: I think she will write…
T: good idea. But are you right? Let’s look at the video.
3). Play the CD-ROM to read the letter.
T: guys listen carefully and tell me, who is Amy’s new friend?
Play the tape.
Discuss and check answer.
4). Listen again and analyze the letter.
T: Look, here is a photo of Amy and mengmeng. What’s mengmeng like? And where were they? Please open your book, listen and find out the answers.
5). Listen and repeat.
T: boys and girls, now we will listen to the tape again. This time, please try to imitate and try to repeat the letter.

This procedure is to learn the new text. The Task-based method is used to lead students to read the letter carefully and get information from the letter. Imitation and repeat will improve students’ pronunciation.
Practice
1) Finish the exercise on page 6 and 7.
2) Role-play.
Students will read the letter by group, or by role.
Play a game: who is she/he?
