History

Halloween

traces
Halloween
back
to
the
ancient
religion（信仰）

Celtics
(凯尔特人).
Old
Celtic
people
celebrated
the
festival
of
Samhain,

marked

of
winter
and
the
Celtic
New
Year（just
like
our
Spring
Festival).
On
October
31st,
the
spirits(鬼魂）
of
the
dead
would
come
back
and
move
freely
looking
for
living
bodies
to

Afraid
of

spirits,
people
dressed
up
in
scary
costumes（戏服）.
They
made
a
big
noise
around
the
neighborhood
hoping
that

ghosts
would
leave
in
peace
before
midnight
of

new
year.
Some
would
also
go
from
house
to
house,
begging

cakes”.
In
return
they
promised
to
pray（祈祷）
for
dead
members
of
the
