B
In
the
fall
of
1985,I
was
a
bright?eyed
girl
heading
off
to
Harvard
University,aiming
at
a
legal
career
and
dreaming
of
sitting
on
a
Supreme
Court
bench
somewhere.Twenty?one
years
later,I
am
still
a
bright?eyed
dreamer
and
one
with
quite
a
different
tale
to
tell.
My
grandma,an
amazing
woman,graduated
from
college
at
the
age
of
65.She
was
the
first
in
our
family
to
reach
that
goal.But
one
year
after
I
started
college,she
developed
cancer.I
made
the
choice
to
withdraw
from
college
to
care
for
her.It
meant
that
school
and
my
personal
dream
would
have
to
wait.
Then
I
got
married
with
another
dream:
building
my
family
with
a
combination
of
adopt
and
biological
children.In
1999,we
adopted
our
first
son.To
lay
eyes
on
him
was
fantastic—and
very
emotional.A
year
later
came
our
second
adopted
boy.Then
followed
son
No.3.In
2003,I
gave
birth
to
another
boy.
You
can
imagine
how
fully
occupied
I
became,raising
four
boys
under
the
age
of
8!Our
home
was
a
complete
zoo—a
joyous
zoo.Not
surprising,I
never
did
make
it
back
to
college
full?time.But
I
never
gave
up
on
the
dream
either.I
had
only
one
choice:
to
find
a
way.That
meant
taking
as
few
as
one
class
each
semester.
The
hardest
part
was
feeling
guilty
about
the
time
I
spent
away
from
the
boys.They
often
wanted
me
to
stay
home
with
them.There
certainly
were
times
I
wanted
to
quit,but
I
knew
I
should
set
an
example
for
them
to
follow
through
the
rest
of
their
lives.
In
2007,I
graduated
from
the
University
of
North
Carolina.It
took
me
over
21
years
to
get
my
college
degree!
I
am
not
special,just
single?minded.It
always
struck
me
that
when
you’re
looking
at
a
big
challenge
from
the
outside
it
looks
huge,but
when
you’re
in
the
midst
of
it,it
just
seems
normal.Everything
you
want
won’t
arrive
in
your
life
on
one
day.It’s
a
process.Remember:
little
steps
add
up
to
big
dreams.

In
a
major
medical
breakthrough,Tel
Aviv
University
researchers
have
“printed”
the
world’s
first
3D
vascularized(有血管的)engineered
heart
using
a
patient’s
own
cells
and
biological
materials.Their
findings
were
published
on
April
1st
in
a
study
in
Advanced
Science.
“This
is
the
first
time
anyone
anywhere
has
successfully
engineered
and
printed
an
entire
heart,”
says
Prof.Tal
Dvir
of
Department
of
Materials
Science
and
Engineering,who
led
the
research
for
the
study.“This
heart
is
made
from
human
cells
and
patient?specific
biological
materials.In
our
process,these
materials
serve
as
the
bioinks,something
made
of
sugars
and
proteins
that
can
be
used
for
3D
printing
of
complex
tissue
models,”
Prof.Dvir
says.“People
managed
to
3D
print
the
structure
of
a
heart
in
the
past,but
not
with
cells
or
with
blood
vessels
(血管).Our
results
demonstrate
the
potential
of
our
approach
for
engineering
personalized
tissue
and
organ
replacement
in
the
future.”
According
to
Prof.Dvir,the
use
of
“native”
patient?specific
materials
is
important
to
successfully
engineering
tissues
and
organs.
The
researchers
are
now
planning
on
culturing
the
printed
hearts
in
the
lab
and
“teaching
them
to
behave”
like
hearts,Prof.Dvir
says.They
then
plan
to
transplant
the
3D?printed
heart
in
animal
models.
“We
need
to
develop
the
printed
heart
further,”
he
concludes.The
cells
need
to
form
a
pumping
ability;
they
can
currently
contract(收缩),but
we
need
them
to
work
together.Our
hope
is
that
we
will
succeed
and
prove
our
method’s
efficacy(功效)
and
usefulness.“Maybe,in
ten
years,there
will
be
organ
printers
in
the
finest
hospitals
around
the
world,and
these
procedures
will
be
conducted
routinely.”
28.What
does
Prof.Dvir
think
of
an
early
3D?printed
heart?
A.It
was
highly
practical.
B.It
was
too
expensive.
C.It
was
personalized.
D.It
was
too
simple.
29.What
do
we
know
about
the
latest
3D?printed
heart?
A.It
can
be
cultured
in
the
lab.
B.It
can
match
a
patient
perfectly.
C.It
has
been
transplanted
in
animals.
D.It
has
been
widely
used
in
hospitals.
30.What
is
Prof.Dvir’s
attitude
to
the
development
of
the
printed
heart?
A.Ambiguous.
B.Positive.
C.Disapproving.
D.Cautious.
31.What
is
the
author’s
purpose
in
writing
the
text?
A.To
explain
the
basic
principle
of
3D
technology.
B.To
introduce
a
breakthrough
of
medical
research.
C.To
doubt
the
medical
value
of
a
new
invention.

While
Jennifer
was
at
home
taking
an
online
exam
for
her
business
law
class,a
monitor
a
few
hundred
miles
away
was
watching
her
every
move.
Using
a
web
camera
equipped
in
Jennifer’s
Los
Angeles
apartment,the
monitor
in
Phoenix
tracked
how
frequently
her
eyes
moved
from
the

and
listened
for
the
secret

of
a
possible

in
the

In
the
battle
against
cheating,this
is
the
cutting
edge
and
a
key
to
encouraging
honesty
in
the
booming
field
of
online
education.The
technology
gives
trust
to
the
entire
system,to
the

and
to
online
education
in
general.Only
with
solid
measures
against
cheating,experts
say,can
Internet
universities
show
that
their
exams
and
diplomas
are
valid—that
students
haven’t
just
searched
the
Internet
to
get
the
right
answers.
Although
online
classes
have
existed
for
more
than
a
decade,the
concern
over
cheating
has
become
sharper
in
the
last
year
with
the
growth
of
“open
online
courses”.Private
colleges,public
universities
and
corporations
are
jumping
into
the
online
education
field.Spending
millions
of
dollars
to
attract
potential
students,while
also
taking
steps
to
help
guarantee
honesty
at
a
distance.
Aside
from
the
web
cameras,a
number
of
other
high?tech
methods
are
becoming
increasingly
popular.Among
them
are
programs
that
check
students’
identities
using
personal
information,such
as
the
telephone
numbers
they
once
used.
Other
programs
can
produce
unique
exams
by
drawing
on
a
large
list
of
questions
and
can
recognize
possible
cheaters
by
analyzing
whether
difficult
test
questions
are
answered
at
the
same
speed
as
easy
ones.As
in
many
university
classes,term
papers
are
scanned
against
some
large
Internet
data
banks
for
cheating.
32.Why
was
Jennifer
watched
in
an
online
exam?
A.To
correct
her
typing
mistakes.
B.To
find
her
secrets
in
the
room.
C.To
prevent
her
from
slowing
down.
D.To
keep
her
from
dishonest
behaviors.
33.The
underlined
expression
“cutting

in
Paragraph

第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分)
第一节 (共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分)
阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。
Years
ago,I
was
working
in
a
French
cosmetics(化妆品)
company.One
day,we
had
a
discussion
about
the
package
of
the
newly?designed
product.One
of
my
colleagues
41
the
picture
of
his
design.The
director
asked
us
to
comment
on
it.
I
found
the
pattern
well?designed
but
didn’t
match
the
French
style.
42
it
has
no
feature
to
reflect
the
French
fashion.
43
,I
stood
up
and
expressed
my
opinion,“The
package
is
beautiful
and
the
colors
are
harmonious.But
as
the
Chinese
marketing
manager,I
know
exactly
what
concerns
the
customers.They’d
like
to
see
some
traces
of
French
44
from
the
design.Since
this
product
mainly
aims
at
the
Chinese
market,I
suggest
we
add
something
familiar
to
our
45
.For
example,we
can
attach
our
company
logo
to
the
picture;
46
,it
can’t
highlight
our
company
image.”
But
some
of
my
workmates
47
with
me.They
believed
the
design
was
good
enough
and
even
the
manager
of
our
department
was
on
their
side.
The
argument
was
so
48
that
eventually
I
said
in
a
trembling
voice,“I
insist
on
some
changes
in
the
design,because
I
can’t
bear
to
see
you
49
the
reputation
of
our
company.”
The
meeting
ended
with
the
problem
50
.However,the
next
day
the
director
of
the
company
came
to
my
office
and
told
me,“I
thought
twice
about
the
new
51
last
night
and
I
had
to
admit
that
your
plan
was
more
practical.So
we’ll
adopt
your
plan
and
thanks
for
your
52
to
persuade
others.Without
your
advice,our
company
might
53
great
losses.”
I
was
very
happy
that
I
had
stuck
to
my
opinion
instead
of
following
others.Sometimes,people
lack
the
54
to
insist
on
the
right
choices.But
a
small
step
further
can
make
a
big

第四部分 写作(共两节,满分40分)
第一节 (满分15分)
请将下面的英文短诗,以“Reading
Is
Valuable”为题改写成一篇英语短文。
I
love
reading
books,
Which
are
my
best
friends.
They
are
an
important
bridge
to
a
new
world,
Always
helping
me
avoid
getting
puzzled.
They
remove
all
troubles
just
like
a
sharp
knife.
And
bring
happiness
to
me
in
daily
life.
As
for
me
a
book
is
the
angel’s
sweetest
kiss.

Reading
Is
Valuable
I
love
books
very
much.Reading
is
valuable
in
many
ways.Firstly,through
reading,I
can
get
to
know
the
writers’
thoughts
and
feelings
that
the
writers
convey
in
books.Secondly,I
can
learn
about
the
writing
styles
of
many
foreign
writers
by
reading
some
translations.Besides,reading
can
help
me
solve
many
difficult
problems
and
get
me
out
of
trouble.Whenever
I
feel
sad
for
failing
the
exams,reading
helps
me
transform
bad
moods
into
joy
and
courage.
All
in
all,I
benefit
a
lot
from
reading,which
makes
me
a
better
person.I
think
books
are
the
best
gifts
that
God
has
given
me.
第二节 (满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为150左右。
A
few
years
ago
I
worked
in
an
international
company
that
sold
computer
devices.I
had
to
travel
a
lot
all
over
the
country
as
a
part
of
my
work.I
remember
that
I
was
at
a
stage
of
my
life
where
I
only
cared
about
how
to
make
more
money.
On
one
of
my
trips,I
came
out
of
the
airport
to
take
a
bus
to
downtown,as
usual.It
was
the
same
routine:
get
into
the
city,take
the
bus
to
the
hotel,visit
the
customer,work
late,take
the
bus
back
to
the
airport
and
fly
back...That
day,for
some
reasons,I
decided
to
take
the
stairs
down
to
a
different
exit,where
I
came
across
a
beautiful
garden
I
had
never
seen
before.I
waited
there,enjoying
the
scenery.Finally
the
bus
came.
Usually
I
always
took
the
seat
behind
the
driver.That
day
I
sat
down
somewhere
in
the
middle.A
boy
was
seated
next
to
me,carrying
a
lot
of
suitcases.Suddenly,he
turned
to
me
and
gave
me
one
of
the
most
sincere
smiles
I
had
ever
seen
from
a
stranger.Warmly,he
said,“Hi,the
perfect
day
in
the
perfect
place,huh?”
I
remember
thinking
to
myself—this
must
be
one
of
those
typical
people
who
are
young
and
naive
and
just
think
everything
is
beautiful
and
easy.Why
was
he
annoying
me
when
I
just
wanted
to
enjoy
the
bus
ride?
But
out
of
politeness,I
replied,“Perfect!
Did
your
parents
pay
for
you
to
have
some
vacations
on
the
beach?”“No,I’m
not
here
for
vacation,and
I
don’t
have
parents,”
he
shook
his
head.“I’m
here
because
I
want
to
achieve
my
biggest
dream.I’m
on
the
way
to
the
army
school
where
my
grandfather
studied
a
long
time
ago.”
Paragraph
1:
“I
lost
my
dad
10
years
ago
then
my
mom
married
again.My
stepfather
Paragraph
2:
He
smiled
and
told
me
that
for
10
years,he
had
only
one
thing
on
his
mind

“I
lost
my
dad
10
years
ago
then
my
mom
married
again.My
stepfather
threw
me
out
of
the
house.Since
then,I’ve
been
living
all
over
the
country.I’ve
met
many
people
who
were
kind
to
me.And
I’ve
learnt
a
lot
from
life
through
these
years,”
he
said
softly.At
that
point
I
couldn’t
say
a
word.I
felt
the
tears
coming.Fortunately,he
continued
talking.
He
smiled
and
told
me
that
for
10
years,he
had
only
one
thing
on
his
mind—to
join
the
army
school
like
his
grandfather.“My
grandfather
was
a
general
of
the
army.He
left
me
this,”
he
said
proudly.He
showed
me
a
golden
knife
and
said
this
was
the
best
memory
of
his
childhood.“The
only
thing
I
know
is
that
I
will
follow
my
biggest
dream
and
every
day
I
will
be
happy.”
Soon,the
bus
reached
his
stop.He
stood
up,took
all
his
suitcases,and
said
goodbye
with
a
big
smile.From
that
day
on,I
always
try
to
do
everything
with
my
best
smile
on
my
face.
