For
a
herder
(放牧人)
in
Africa,
the
hardest
part
of
the
job
is
searching
for
cattle
lost
in
the
bush.
But
for
Andrew,
a
herder
at
a
farm
in
Zimbabwe,
it's
not
a
problem.
Once
he
spots
Toro,
he
knows
the
rest
of
the
herd
is
nearby.
That's
because
Toro
isn't
an
ordinary
member
of
the
herd.
He's
a
giraffe.
In
hot
weather,
cattle
rest
in
the
shade
under
his
belly.
And
because
of
his
height,
Toro
can
spot
lions
long
before
they
come
close
to
the
herd.
Toro's
unusual
situation
came
about
after
his
mother
was
killed
by
lions.
Toro
survived
the
attack,
but
he
was
left
with
no
one
to
protect
him
or
give
him
milk.
About
two
days
later,
some
herders
spotted
and
rescued
him.
With
the
permission
of
the
Department
of
Wildlife,
the
herders
moved
Toro
to
Andrew's
farm.
Since
giraffes
and
cattle
are
both
plant-eating
animals
that
live
in
groups,
their
behaviours
are
much
the
same.
Toro
was
accepted
into
the
herd
and
wandered
among
the
cattle
as
they
ate
grass.
Toro
doesn't
always
behave
like
the
other
members
of
his
new
herd.
Like
many
kinds
of
animals,
cattle
compete
for
dominance
(支配).
Standing
more
than
13
feet
tall,
Toro
is
more
than
three
times
taller
than
the
biggest
bull.
But
Toro
never
tries
to
be
“the
boss”.“He
is
very
used
to
their
company,”
Andrew
said.
“When
the
herd
enters
the
kraal
(牲畜栏),
the
cows
and
bulls
push
each
other.
But
thanks
to
his
height,
Toro
does
not
need
to
join
the
mess,”
said
Andrew.
When
asked
if
Toro
would
ever
be
returned
to
the
wild,
Munetsi,
an
officer
of
the
Department
of
Wildlife
said
no.
“In
the
wild,
he
would
find
it
difficult
to
be
accepted
into
another
herd
or
defend
himself
from
predators
(猎食者),”
he
added.
“He
seems
very
much
at
home
and
is
respected
by
the
cattle.”
( )4.
What
was
Toro
like
when
the
herders
found
him?
A.He
was
left
alone.
B.He
was
seriously
ill.
C.He
was
lost
in
the
bush.
D.He
was
fighting
with
lions.
( )5.
What
do
we
know
about
Toro
in
the
cattle
herd?
A.He
has
fought
to
be
the
leader.
B.He
gets
along
well
with
the
herd.
C.He
is
pushed
around
by
the
bulls.
D.He
stays
away
from
the
herd
most
of
the
time.
( )6.
What
will
happen
to
Toro
according
to
Munetsi?
A.He
will
be
sent
back
to
the
wild.
B.He
will
be
put
into
another
herd
of
giraffes.
C.He
will
continue
to
live
together
with
Andrew.
D.He
will
be
trained
to
fight
with
the
big
animals.
( )7.
What
may
be
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.Giraffes
under
threat
in
the
wild
B.A
surprising
new
family
for
a
giraffe
C.A
new
way
of
herding
appearing
in
Africa
D.Moments
showing
friendship
between
animals
C
Minutes
after
the
last
movie
ended
yesterday
at
the
Plaza
Theatre,
employees
were
busy
sweeping
up
popcorn
and
gathering
coke
cups.
It
was
a
scene
that
had
been
repeated
many
times
in
the
theatre's
75-year
history.
This
time,
however,
the
clean-up
was
a
little
different.
As
one
group
of
workers
carried
out
the
rubbish,
another
group
began
removing
seats
and
other
theatre
equipment
in
preparation
for
the
building's
end.
The
classic
film
The
Last
Picture
Show
was
the
last
movie
shown
in
the
old
theatre.
Though
the
movie
is
30
years
old,
most
of
the
250
seats
were
filled
with
teary-eyed
audience
wanting
to
say
goodbye
to
the
old
building.
Theatre
owner
Ed
Bradford
said
he
chose
the
movie
because
it
seemed
proper.
The
movie
is
set
in
a
small
town
where
the
only
movie
theatre
is
preparing
to
close
down.
Bradford
said
that
large
modern
theatres
in
the
city
made
it
impossible
for
the
Plaza
to
compete.
He
added
that
the
theatre's
location
(位置)
was
also
a
reason.
“This
used
to
be
the
centre
of
town,”
he
said.
“Now
the
area
is
mostly
office
buildings
and
warehouses.”
Last
week
some
city
officials
suggested
the
city
might
be
interested
in
turning
the
old
theatre
into
a
museum
and
public
meeting
place.
However,
these
plans
were
given
up
because
of
financial
problems.
Bradford
sold
the
building
and
land
to
a
local
development
firm,
which
plans
to
build
a
shopping
complex
on
the
land
where
the
theatre
is
located.
The
theatre
audience
said
goodbye
as
Bradford
locked
the
doors
for
the
last
time.
After
75
years
the
Plaza
Theatre
has
shown
its
last
movie.
The
theatre
will
be
missed.
( )8.

of
the
theatre.

of
the
audience.
D.It

the
75th
anniversary
of
the
theatre.
( )9.

was
The
Last
Picture
Show
put
on?

all-time
classic.

the
history
of
the
town.

old
theatre.

The
COVID-19
and
flu
are
both
respiratory
infectious
diseases,
with
similar
symptoms
including
fever
and
cough,but
they
are
not
the
same.
Both
the
COVID-19
and
flu
are
diseases
caused
by
a
virus.
In
the
case
of
flu,
the
pathogens(病原体)
are
flu
viruses,and
for
COVID-19,it
is
a
novel
coronavirus(新型冠状病毒).
Common
symptoms
for
flu
and
novel
coronavirus
are
nearly
identical
fever,
cough
and
tiredness,
sometimes
sore
throat
and
diarrhea.
In
severe
cases,
they
result
in
pneumonia(肺炎),
and
even
deaths
in
the
worst
cases.
Flu
has
seasonal
ups
and
downs.
Although
it
can
exist
all
year
round,
the
virus
infects
more
people
in
winter
and
spring.
As
for
the
novel
coronavirus,
there
is
not
yet
enough
evidence
showing
how
it
would
respond
to
changing
weather.
The
mortality
rate(死亡率)
for
the
novel
coronavirus
is
higher
than
that
for
flu.
Generally,
people
with
poor
immunity(免疫力),
especially
children
and
seniors,
are
more
likely
to
catch
seasonal
flu
and
develop
into
severe
cases.
As
for
the
novel
coronavirus,
the
median
age
for
the
infected
is
51.
But
the
novel
coronavirus
is
a
brand-new
virus,and
no
one
has
total
immunity
no
matter
their
age.
Both
the
flu
and
the
novel
coronavirus
are
transmitted
in
similar
ways,by
direct
contact
with
infected
patients
or
small
droplets
from
the
nose
or
mouth
when
a
person
with
viruses
coughs
or
breathes.
Flu
can
be
spread
by
an
infected
person
for
several
days
before
their
symptoms
appear.
As
for
the
novel
coronavirus,
spread
might
be
possible
before
people
show
symptoms,
but
this
is
not
thought
to
be
the
main
way
the
virus
spreads.
For
the
novel
coronavirus,
there
is
also
a
risk
for
aerosol
transmission(气溶胶传播).
In
health
facilities,
people
may
catch
the
virus
if
they
breathed
in
aerosol,
the
suspension
of
fine
solid
or
liquid
particles
in
the
air,
which
have
been
contaminated
by
the
virus.
The
novel
coronavirus
has
also
been
found
in
patients'
fecal(排泄物)
samples,but
fecal-oral
transmission
does
not
appear
to
be
a
major
transmission
route.
( )12.What
can
we
learn
about
the
novel
coronavirus?
A.It
has
seasonal
changes.
B.
It
causes
less
deaths
than
flu.
C.
It
may
spread
among
people
of
all
ages.
D.
It
only
spreads
after
people
show
symptoms.
( )13.Which
of
the
following
is
NOT
the
way
the
novel
coronavirus
transmits?
A.
Aerosol
transmission.
B.
Contact
transmission.
C.
Fecal-oral
transmission.
D.
Age
transmission.
( )14.The
author's
main
purpose
of
writing
the
article
is
probably
to
.?
A.
prove
flu
has
less
harm
to
humans
than
COVID-19
B.
raise
people's
awareness
of
protecting
their
health
C.
prove
COVID-19
probably
won't
cause
human
deaths
D.
provide
some
suggestions
to
avoid
COVID-19
infection
( )15.What
does
the
passage
mainly
talk
about?
A.
A
new
treatment
on
the
novel
coronavirus.
B.
The
latest
research
on
COVID-19
and
flu.
C.
The
difference
between
the
novel
coronavirus
and
flu.
D.
How
to
identify
COVID-19
and
flu
on
symptoms.

Reasons
why
change
is
good
for
you
We
all
know
that
change
is
hard
because
our
brain
is
used
to
doing
the
same
thing
again
and
again.
16.
But
the
positive
consequence
is
really
great.
Here
are
four
reasons
why
change
is
good
for
you:?
17. ?
Life
in
the
comfort
zone
is
easy.
You
simply
follow
a
routine
and
you
can
predict
the
results.
Outside
of
the
comfort
zone,
your
assumptions
are
questioned.
The
idea
of
doing
the
same
thing
over
and
over
again
without
question
is
discouraged.
You
get
to
experience
more.
18.
When
you
look
back
on
your
life,
all
of
the
really
amazing
things
are
because
of
new
experiences
you
have.
All
of
those
vacations
you
took
and
all
of
the
people
you
met
have
taught
you
more
than
you
ever
learned
in
school.
These
experiences
now
make
up
who
you
are
today.?
You'll
be
more
flexible
and
adaptable.
Without
doubt,
change
makes
you
more
flexible
and
adaptable.
You
learn
to
deal
with
things
in
a
way
that
seems
foreign
but
acceptable
and
achievable.
19.
You
begin
to
thrive
(茁壮成长)
in
new
situations
because
you
have
proven
to
yourself
that
you
can,
not
only
handle
change,
but
FLOURISH.?
You
have
more
fun.
When
you
are
open
to
change,
you
are
open
to
saying
YES
to
more.
You
are
open
to
more
experiences
and
opportunities.
20.
When
you
add
all
of
these
things
together,
you
are
going
to
have
a
more
colourful
life
and
you'll
have
a
ton
of
fun
figuring
it
all
out
along
the
way—there's
no
doubt
about
it.?
A.You
are
pushed
out
of
your
comfort
zone.
B.Experience
is
waiting
for
you
at
the
doorstep.
C.You
have
the
opportunity
to
meet
more
people
too.
D.Whether
the
change
is
good
or
bad
for
you,
it
does
happen.
E.We
also
know
how
challenging
it
can
be
to
go
through
change.
F.Then,
you'll
be
more
confident
when
in
the
next
uncomfortable
situation.
G.Change
is
good
because
you
have
the
chance
to
involve
in
new
experiences.

I

Owura

He
would
come
to

He

Owura's
efforts
were 27
when

Owura
got
the
thing
he
always
wanted
for
his

we
believe
that

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为150左右。
After
I
finished
my
senior
year,
I
got
a
part-time
job
working
at
a
local
coffee
shop.
I
had
thought
that
the
job
would
be
easy
and,
for
the
most
part,
stress-free.
I
pictured
myself
pouring
the
best
delicious
coffees,
and
becoming
close
friends
with
the
regular
customers.
What
I
hadn't
counted
on
were
the
people
with
many
orders
who
chose
to
use
the
drive-through
window,
or
the
customers
who
felt
there
was
always
too
much
sugar,
too
little
ice,
or
not
enough
skimmed
milk.
There
were
moments
when
I
was
annoyed.
However,
I
kept
at
it.
On
a
rainy
day,
one
of
my
regular
customers
came
in
looking
depressed
and
defeated.
I
asked
what
the
problem
was
and
if
I
could
help,
but
the
customer
wouldn't
tell
any
details.
He
just
said
he
felt
like
pulling
the
sheets
up
over
his
head
in
the
bed,
and
staying
in
it
for
a
few
years.
I
knew
exactly
how
he
felt.
Before
he
left,
I
handed
him
a
bag
along
with
his
iced
coffee.
He
looked
at
me
questioningly
because
he
hadn't
ordered
anything
but
the
coffee.
He
opened
the
bag
and
saw
that
I
had
given
him
his
favourite
type
of
doughnut.
“It's
on
me,”
I
told
him.
“Have
a
nice
day.”
He
smiled
and
thanked
me
before
turning
around
and
heading
back
out
into
the
rain.
The
next
day
was
a
horrible
one.
The
rain
poured
down
and
everyone
seemed
to
be
using
the
drive-through
window.
I
spent
my
afternoon
leaning
out
of
the
window,
and
handing
people
their
orders.
I
tried
to
smile
but
it
was
difficult,
as
they
sat
in
their
temperature-controlled
cars
with
the
windows
rolled
up,
while
I
dealt
with
huge
drops
of
water
hanging
from
my
hat,
and
a
shirt
that
was
entirely
wet
around
the
collar.
On
top
of
that,
no
one
felt
like
tipping
that
day.
Every
time
I
looked
into
our
tip
jar,
with
its
small
amount
of
pennies,
I
grew
more
depressed.

The

But
instead
of

he

He
