阅读下列短文,
从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,
选出最佳选项。
A
If
the
Olympic
Games
are
a
history
of
mankind,
wrestling(摔跤)
is
the
prologue(序幕).
When
the
ancient
Games
of
the
Olympiad
were
born,
wrestling
was
already
an
ancient
game.
Widely
recognized
as
the
world’s
oldest
competitive
sport,
wrestling
appeared
in
a
series
of
Egyptian
wall
paintings
as
early
as
5,000
years
ago.When
the
ancient
Olympic
Games
began
in
776
BC,
more
than
two
thousand
years
later,
it
included
wrestling
and
in
the
years
that
followed,
wrestling
featured
as
the
main
event.
The
sport
would
return
in
a
similar
role
when
the
Olympic
Games
returned
after
a
1,500-year
absence
in
1896.
Organizers,
seeking
direct
links
to
ancient
times,
found
wrestling
was
very
popular
across
much
of
the
ancient
world,
from
Greece,
Assyria
and
Babylon
to
India,
China
and
Japan.
Greco
Roman
wrestling,
a
style
which
was
believed
to
be
passed
down
from
the
Greek
and
Roman
wrestlers
of
old
was
brought
back
into
use.
In
Greco
Roman
wrestling,
the
wrestlers
used
only
their
arms
and
upper
bodies
to
attack.
They
could
hold
only
those
same
parts
of
their
opponents(对手).
It
worked
nicely
from
a
historical
attitude,
but
another
cheerful
and
relaxing
style
was
sweeping
across
Great
Britain
and
the
United
States
by
then.Known
as
“catch
as
catch
can”,
it
had
become
popular
at
fairs
and
festivals
in
both
countries.
In
1904,
the
Olympic
Games
added
the
second
wrestling
event
and
called
it
“freestyle”.
Now,
wrestlers
could
use
their
legs
for
pushing,
lifting
and
tripping,
and
they
could
hold
opponents
above
or
below
the
waist.
1.What
does
the
writer
want
to
tell
us
by
saying
wrestling
is
the
prologue?
A.
The
ancient
Olympic
Games
have
a
long

B.
Wrestling
was
an
important
game
in
the
ancient
Olympic
Games.
C.
Wrestling
is
popular
all
the
time.
D.
Wrestling
has
a
really
long
history.
2.Why
was
Greco
Roman
wrestling
brought
back
into
use
in
1896
when
the
Olympic
Games
returned?
A.
Organizers
wanted
to

There
are
two
factors
which
determine
an
individual’s
intelligence.
The
first
is
the
sort
of
brain
he
is
born
with.Human
brains
differ
considerably,
some
being
more
capable
than
others.
But
no
matter
how
good
a
brain
he
has
to
begin
with,
an
individual
will
have
a
low
order
of
intelligence
unless
he
has
opportunities
to
learn.
So
the
second
factor
is
what
happens
to
the
individual—the
sort
of
environment
in
which
he
is
reared.
If
an
individual
is
handicapped
environmentally,
it
is
likely
that
his
brain
will
fail
to
develop
and
he
will
never
attain
the
level
of
intelligence
of
which
he
is
capable.
The
importance
of
environment
in
determining
an
individual’s
intelligence
can
be
demonstrated
by
the
case
history
of
the
identical
twins,
Peter
and
Mark.
Being
identical,
the
twins
had
identical
brains
at
birth,
and
their
growth
processes
were
the
same.
When
the
twins
were
three
months
old,
their
parents
died,
and
they
were
placed
in
separate
foster
homes.
Peter
was
reared
by
parents
of
low
intelligence
in
an
isolated
community
with
poor
educational
opportunities.
Mark
was
reared
in
the
home
of
well-to-do
parents
who
had
been
to
college.
He
was
read
to
as
a
child,
sent
to
good
schools,
and
given
every
opportunity
to
be
stimulated
intellectually.
This
environmental
difference
continued
until
the
twins
were
in
their
late
teens,
when
they
were
given
tests
to
measure
their
intelligence,
Mark’s
I.Q.was
125,
twenty-five
points
higher
than
the
average
and
fully
forty
points
higher
than
his
identical
brother.
Given
equal
opportunities,
the
twins,
having
identical
brains,
would
have
tested
at
roughly
the
same
level.

The
final
event
in
the
Olympics
is
the
marathon.
It
is
also
usually
the
most
exciting.
As
the
leader
comes
into
the
stadium
to
run
the
last
few
meters
of
the
42-kilometre
race,
the
crowd
rises
to
its
feet
to
shout
and
cheer.
The
name
of
the
race
comes
from
a
battle
in
Ancient
Greece.
According
to
the
story,
a
soldier
ran
from
the
scene
of
the
battle,
Marathon,
to
Athens,
to
bring
the
news
of
a
Greek
victory
against
the
Persians.
He
died
just
after
arriving.
The
marathon
has
been
an
Olympic
event
since
the
modern
games
started
in
1896.
At
first
the
distance
was
40
kilometers—the
distance
between
Marathon
and
Athens.
In
1908,
however,
at
the
London
Olympics,
it
was
changed.
The
King
of
England
wanted
the
runners
to
leave
from
his
castle
in
Windsor
and
arrive
in
a
new
stadium
in
central
London.
The
distance
was
26
miles—about
42
kilometers.
In
fact,
the
1908
marathon
ended
dramatically
(戏剧性地).
When
the
leader,
an
Italian,
entered
the
stadium
he
turned
the
wrong
way
and
fell
onto
the
ground.
Officials
picked
him
up
and
helped
him
to
the
finishing
line,
just
as
the
second
runner,
an
American,
entered
the
stadium.
The
Americans
protested
(抗议)
and
in
the
end
the
American
runner
was
declared
(宣布)
the
winner.
Since
then,
there
have
been
many
more
exciting
marathons.
In
fact,
you
don’t
have
to
wait
for
the
Olympic
Games
to
run
or
watch
a
marathon,
as
there
are
marathons
in
over
sixty
countries
and
hundreds
of
cities
around
the
world
today.
One
of
the
most
famous
marathons
is
in
New
York,
and
is
watched
by
two
million
people
around
the
streets
and
across
the
bridges
of
the
city’s
five
boroughs
(纽约市的行政区),
and
past
New
York’s
famous
landmarks.
But
perhaps
one
of
the
most
beautiful
and
extraordinary
(最特别的)
marathons
ever
is
the
Great
Wall
Marathon,
which
most
competitors
find
is
the
toughest
course
to
run.
The
marathon
is
the
final
Olympic
event
because
it
is
thought
to
be
the
hardest.
But
experts
believe
that
most
people——even
people
who
are
not
particularly
good
at
sport——can
run
a
marathon,
if
they
train
for
it.
8.When

It's
nice
to
have
people
of
like
mind
around.
Agreeable
people
boost
your
confidence
and
allow
you
to
relax
and
feel
comfortable.
Unfortunately,
that
comfort
can
hinder
the
very
learning
that
can
expand
your
company
and
your
career.
It’s
nice
to
have
people
agree,
but
you
need
conflicting
perspectives
to
dig
out
the
truth.
If
everyone
around
you
has
similar
views,
your
work
will
suffer
from
confirmation
bias
(偏颇).
Take
a
look
at
your
own
network.
Do
your
contacts
share
your
point
of
view
on
most
subjects?
If
yes,
it's
time
to
shake
things
up.
As
a
leader,
it
can
be
challenging
to
create
an
environment
in
which
people
will
freely
disagree
and
argue,
but
as
the
saying
goes:
From
confrontation(冲突)
comes
brilliance.
It’s
not
easy
for
most
people
to
actively
seek
conflict.
Many
spend
their
lives
trying
to
avoid
arguments.
There's
no
need
to
go
out
and
find
people
you
hate,
but
you
need
to
do
some
self-assessment
to
determine
where
you
have
become
stale(疲沓的)
in
your
thinking.
You
may
need
to
start
by
encouraging
your
current
network
to
help
you
identify
your
blind
spots.
Passionate,
energetic
debate
does
not
require
anger
and
hard
feelings
to
be
effective.
But
it
does
require
moral
strength.
Once
you
have
worthy
opponents,
set
some
ground
rules
so
everyone
understands
responsibilities
and
boundaries.
The
objective
of
this
debating
game
is
not
to
win
but
to
get
to
the
truth
that
will
allow
you
to
move
faster,
farther,
and
better.
Fierce
debating
can
hurt
feelings,
particularly
when
strong
personalities
are
involved.
Make
sure
you
check
in
with
your
opponents
so
that
they
are
not
carrying
the
emotion
of
the
battles
beyond
the
battlefield.
Break
the
tension
with
smiles
and
humor
to
reinforce
the
idea
that
this
is
friendly
discourse
and
that
all
are
working
toward
a
common
goal.
Reward
all
those
involved
in
the
debate
sufficiently
when
the
goals
are
reached.
Let
your
sparring
partners
(拳击陪练)
know
how
much
you
appreciate
their
contribution.
The
more
they
feel
appreciated,
the
more
they’ll
be
willing
to
get
into
the
ring
next
time.
12.What
does
the
author
suggest
leaders
do?
A.
Avoid
arguments
with
business
partners.
B.
Build
a
wide
and
strong
business
network.
C.
Encourage
people
to
disagree
and
argue.
D.
Seek
advice
from
their
worthy
competitors.
13.What
is
the
purpose
of
holding
a
debate?
A.
To
build
up
people's
moral
strength.
B.
To
remove
misunderstandings.
C.
To
find
out
the
truth
about
an
issue.
D.
To
look
for
worthy
opponents.
14.What
advice
does
the
author
give
to
people
engaged
in
a
fierce
debate?
A.
.They
take
care
not
to
hurt
each
other’s
feelings.
B.
They
show
due
respect
for
each
other’s
beliefs.
C.
They
present
their
views
clearly
and
explicitly.
D.
They
listen
carefully
to
their
opponents'
views.
15.How
should
we
treat
our
rivals
after
a
successful
debate?
A.
Try
to
make
peace
with
them.
B.
Invite
them
to
the
ring
next
time.
C.
Try
to
make
up
the
differences.
D.
Acknowledge
their
contribution.

Two

the

Today,
a

So,
how

The

one
you’ve

many
times,
from
all
sorts
of
people.
“You

Is
there

The
Advantages
of
Doing
Physical
Exercises
As
the
proverb
goes,
“no
one
knows
the
value
of
health
until
he
loses
it.”
From
this,
we
know
that
health
is
very
important
to
everybody.
But
how
to
keep
fit?
Many
people
believe
that
sports
can
offer
people
health
and
pleasure.
As
far
as
I’m
concerned,
I
think
doing
physical
exercises
have
lots
of
advantages.
First
of
all,
doing
exercises
in
the
morning
will
refresh
my
body
as
well
as
give
me
a
good
appetite
to
eat
my
breakfast.
What’s
more,
the
air
in
the
morning
is
really
fresh
and
clean,
so
I
can
keep
my
mind
clear
and
sound
in
the
class.
By
doing
physical
every
day
I
can
keep
my
mind
alert
that
I
can
finish
my
tasks
in
time.
If
I
do
not
do
any
physical
exercise,
I
will
feel
tired
and
my
body
becomes
quite
sluggish.
During
the
night,
I
may
find
it
becomes
harder
to
fall
asleep.
Second,
doing
exercises
everyday
will
help
me
to
mound
a
better
personality.
It
takes
time
and
patient
to
do
exercises.
Sometimes
I
just
want
to
give
up,
but
my
friends
encourage
me
to
carry
on,
then
I
feel
a
lot
of
satisfaction.
Doing
physical
exercises
makes
me
stronger
and
healthier.
That’s
my
personal
experience.
As
a
student,
sports
are
indispensable.
You
can
pick
up
your
favorite
sport
and
do
it
every
day.
Only
in
this
way,
you
can
have
both
pleasure
and
a
healthy
body.
