B
Some
people
will
do
just
about
anything
to
save
money.
And
I
am
one
of
them.
Take
my
family’s
last
vacation.
It
was
my
six-year-old
son’s
winter
break
form
school,
and
we
were
heading
home
from
Fort
Lauderdale
after
a
week-long
trip.
The
flight
was
overbooked,
and
Delta,
the
airline,
offered
us
$400
per
person
in
credits
to
give
up
our
seats
and
leave
the
next
day.
I
had
meetings
in
New
York,
so
I
had
to
get
back.
But
that
didn’t
mean
my
husband
and
my
son
couldn’t
stay.
I
took
my
nine-month-old
baby
and
took
off
for
home.
The
next
day,
my
husband
and
son
were
offered
more
credits
to
take
an
even
later
flight.
Yes,
I
encouraged
and
ordered
them
to
wait
it
out
at
the
airport,
to
“earn”
more
Delta
Dollars.
Our
total
take:
$1,600.
Not
bad,
huh?
Now
some
people
may
think
I’m
a
bad
mother
and
not
such
a
great
wife
either.
But
as
a
big-time
bargain
hunter,
I
know
the
value
of
a
dollar.
And
these
days,
a
good
deal
is
something
few
of
us
can
afford
to
pass
up.
I’ve
made
a
living
looking
for
the
best
deals
and
exposing(揭露)the
worst
tricks.
I
have
been
the
consumer
reporter
of
NBC’s
Today
show
for
over
a
decade.
I
have
written
a
couple
of
books
including
one
titled
Tricks
of
the
Trade:
A
Consumer
Survival
Guide.
And
I
really
do
what
I
believe
in.
I
tell
you
this
because
there
is
no
shame
in
getting
your
money’s
worth.
I’m
also
tightfisted
when
it
comes
to
shoes,
clothes
for
my
children,
and
expensive
restaurants.
But
I
wouldn’t
hesitate
to
spend
on
a
good
haircut.
It
keeps
its
shape
longer,
and
it’s
the
first
thing
people
notice.
And
I
will
also
spend
on
a
classic
piece
of
furniture.
Quality
lasts.

the

D.

C
The
sharing
economy,
represented
by
companies
like
Airbnb
or
Uber,
is
the
latest
fashion
craze.
But
many
supporters
have
overlooked
the
reality
that
this
new
business
model
is
largely
based
on
escaping
regulations
and
breaking
the
law.
Airbnb
is
an
Internet-based
service
that
allows
people
to
rent
out
spare
rooms
to
strangers
for
short
stays.
Uber
is
an
Internet
taxi
service
that
allows
thousands
of
people
to
answer
ride
requests
with
their
own
cars.
There
are
hundreds
of
other
such
services.
The
good
thing
about
the
sharing
economy
is
that
it
promotes
the
use
of
under-used
resources.
Millions
of
people
have
houses
or
apartments
with
empty
rooms,
and
Airbnb
allows
them
to
profit
from
these
rooms
while
allowing
guests
a
place
to
stay
at
prices
that
are
often
far
less
than
those
charged
by
hotels.
Uber
offers
prices
that
are
competitive
with
standard
taxi
prices
and
their
drivers
are
often
much
quicker
and
more
trustworthy.
But
the
downside
of
the
sharing
economy
has
gotten
much
less
attention.
Most
cities
and
states
both
tax
and
regulate
hotels,
and
the
tourists
who
stay
in
hotels
are
usually
an
important
source
of
tax
income.
But
many
of
Airbnb’s
customers
are
not
paying
the
taxes
required
under
the
law.
Airbnb
can
also
raise
issues
of
safety
for
its
customers
and
trouble
for
hosts’
neighbors.
Hotels
are
regularly
inspected
to
ensure
that
they
are
not
fire
traps
and
that
they
don’t
form
other
risks
for
visitors.
Airbnb
hosts
face
no
such
inspections.
Since
Airbnb
is
allowing
people
to
escape
taxes
and
regulations,
the
company
is
simply
promoting
thefts.
Others
in
the
economy
will
lose
by
bearing
an
additional
tax
burden
or
being
forced
to
live
next
to
an
apartment
unit
with
a
never-ending
series
of
noisy
visitors.
The
same
story
may
apply
with
Uber.
Uber
is
currently
in
disputes
over
whether
its
cars
meet
the
safety
and
insurance
requirements
imposed
on
standard
taxis.
Also,
if
Uber
and
related
services
flood
the
market,
they
could
harm
all
taxi
drivers’
ability
to
earn
a
minimum
wage.
This
downside
of
the
sharing
needs
to
be
taken
seriously,
but
that
doesn’t
mean
the
current
tax
and
regulatory
structure
is
perfect.
8.
What
is
the
positive
thing
about
the
sharing
economy?
A.
It
is
a
global
trend.
B.
It
is
beyond
regulations.
C.
It
draws
on
spare
resources.
D.
It
brings
in
modest
profits.
9.
What
is
the
problem
with
Airbnb
customers
according
to
the
passage?
A.
They
are
not
regularly
inspected.
B.
They
are
likely
to
commit
thefts.
C.
They
are
allowed
not
to
pay
taxes.
D.
They
can
be
noisy
to
hosts’
neighbours.
10.
What
is
the
argument
over
Uber
according
to
the
passage?
A.
Whether
it
guarantees
customers’
safety.
B.
Whether
it
provides
reliable
services.
C.
Whether
it
lowers
customers’
expenses.
D.
Whether
it
can
compete
with
standard
taxis.
11.
What
will
be
talked
about
in
the
following
paragraphs?
A.
Existing
regulations
and
laws.
B.
Necessary
improvements
of
current
laws.
C.
Further
development
of
Airbnb
and
Uber.
D.
More
downsides
of
Airbnb
and
Uber.
D
I
began
working
in
journalism
when
I
was
eight.
It
was
my
mother’s
idea.
She
wanted
me
to
“make
something”
of
myself,
and
decided
I
had
better
start
young
if
I
was
to
have
any
chance
of
keeping
up
with
the
competition.
With
my
load
of
magazines
I
headed
toward
Belleville
Avenue.
The
crowds
were
there.
There
were
two
gas
stations
on
the
corner
of
Belleville
and
Union.
For
several
hours
I
made
myself
highly
visible,
making
sure
everyone
could
see
me
and
the
heavy
black
letters
on
the
bag
that
said
THE
SATURDAY
EVENING
POST.
When
it
was
supper
time,
I
walked
back
home.
“How
many
did
you
sell,
my
boy?”
my
mother
asked.
“None.”
“Where
did
you
go?”
“The
corner
of
Belleville
and
Union
Avenues.”
“What
did
you
do?”
“Stood
on
the
corner
waiting
for
somebody
to
buy
a
Saturday
Evening
Post.”
“You
just
stood
there?
Didn’t
sell
a
single
one?
My
God,
Russell.”
Uncle
Allen
put
in,
“I’ve
decided
to
take
the
Post.”
I
handed
him
a
copy
and
he
paid
me
a
nickle(五分镍币).It
was
the
first
nickle
I
earned.
Afterwards
my
mother
taught
me
how
to
be
a
salesman.
I
would
have
to
ring
doorbells,
address
adults
with
self-confidence,
and
persuade
them
by
saying
that
no
one,
no
matter
how
poor,
could
afford
to
be
without
the
Saturday
Evening
Post
in
the
home.
One
day,
I
told
my
mother
I’d
changed
my
mind.
I
didn’t
want
to
make
a
success
in
the
magazine
business.
“If
you
think
you
can
change
your
mind
like
this,”
she
replied,
“you’ll
become
a
good-for-nothing.”
She
insisted
that,
as
soon
as
school
was
over,
I
should
start
ringing
doorbells,
selling
magazines.
Whenever
I
said
no,
she
would
scold
me.
My
mother
and
I
had
fought
this
battle
almost
as
long
as
I
could
remember.
My
mother,
dissatisfied
with
my
father’s
plain
workman’s
life,
determined
that
I
would
not
grow
up
like
him
and
his
people.
But
never
did
she
expect
that,
forty
years
later,
such
a
successful
journalist
as
me
would
go
back
to
her
husband’s
people
for
true
life
and
love.

had
great
hope
for
him.
D.
The

the

was
fierce.

was

A.
excited

  Twenty
years
ago
the
most
common
ambition
of
American
children
was
to
be
a
teacher,
followed
by
working
in
banking
and
finance,
and
then
medicine.
But
today’s
situation
is
quite
different.
 1
Instead
they
most
commonly
say
they
want
to
be
a
sports
star,
a
pop
star,
or
an
actor

in
other
words,
they
hope
to
become
a
celebrity.
?
  According
to
experts,
young
people
desire
these
jobs
largely
because
of
the
wealth
and
the
fame.
 2
Let’s
take
athletes
and
singers
as
an
example.
Their
careers
are
short-lived.
Many
athletes’
best
time
only
lasts
a
few
years
and
singers
can
have
a
very
limited
career.
The
field
that
was
once
the
focus
of
their
lives
becomes
something
they
have
little
or
no
involvement
in.
As
a
result,
they’ll
have
a
feeling
of
worthlessness
and
a
lack
of
control.
 3
The
truth
is
quite
simple:
they
have
been
so
far
removed
from
it
for
so
long.
?
  In
spite
of
these
disadvantages,
there
is
greater
ambition
than
ever
among
young
people
to
achieve
that
status.
They
are
not
satisfied
just
making
a
living

they
want
to
be
rich
and
famous.
Globally,
more
and
more
TV
shows
provide
talent
competitions
where
winners
can
achieve
their
goals
in
just
a
few
weeks
or
months.
 4
They
unrealistically
believe
that
this
lifestyle
is
easily
obtained
and
leads
to
great
satisfaction.
?
  While
many
people
argue
that
there
is
nothing
wrong
with
having
such
ambitions,
others
feel
that
this
trend
will
finally
lead
to
dissatisfaction
as
more
and
more
people
are
unable
to
reach
their
goals.
 5

That
means
they
ignore
the
simple
fact
that
great
effort
is
needed
before
success.
As
a
result,
many
people
won’t
realize
their
childhood
dreams,
which
could
have
a
negative
effect
on
their
happiness.
?
A.
The
younger
generation
don’t
favor
these
professions
any
more.
B.
In
many
ways
this
has
been
brought
about
by
the
celebrity
culture.
C.
Unfortunately,
they
do
not
always
have
a
positive
effect
on
people’s
life.
D.
Besides,
it
can
be
difficult
for
them
to
adapt
back
to
a

六、完形填空(每小题1.5分,共30分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。
Most
people
believe
they
don’t
have
much
imagination.
They
are
1
.
Everyone
has
2
,
but
most
of
us,
once
we
become
adults,
forget
how
to
3
it.
Creativity
isn’t
always
4
with
great
works
of
art
or
ideas.
People
at
work
and
in
their
free
time
5
think
of
creative
ways
to
solve
problems.
Maybe
you
have
a
goal
to
achieve,
a
tricky
question
to
answer
or
you
just
want
to
expand
your
mind!
Here
are
three
6
to
help
you.
Making
connections!
This
technique
involves
taking
7
ideas
and
trying
to
find
links
between
them.
First,
think
about
the
8
you
have
to
solve
or
the
job
you
need
to
do.
Then
find
an
image,
word,
idea
or
object,
for
example,
a
candle.
Write
down
all
the
idea/words
9
with
candles:
light,
fire,
matches,
wax,
night,
silence,
etc.
Think
of
as
many
as
you
can.
The
next
stage
is
to
relate
the
10
to
the
job
you
have
to
do.
So
imagine
you
want
to
buy
a
friend
an
original
11
;
you
could
buy
him
tickets
to
match
or
take
him
out
for
the
night.
No
limits!
Imagine
that
normal
limitations
don’t
12
.
You
have
as
much
time/space/money,
etc.
as
you
want.
Think
about
your
goal
and
the
new
13
.
If
your
goal
is
to
learn
to
ski,
14
,
you
can
now
practise
skiing
every
day
of
your
life
(because
you
have
the
time
and
the
money).
Now
15
this
to
reality.
Maybe
you
can
practise
skiing
ever
day
in
December,
or
every
Monday
in
January.
Be
someone
else!
Look
at
the
situation
from
a
16
point
of
view.
Good
businessmen
use
this
technique
in
trade,
and
so
do
17
.
Fiction
writers
often
imagine
they
are
the
18
in
their
books.
They
ask
question:
What
does
this
character
want?
Why
can’t
she
get
it?
What
changes
must
she
make
to
get
what
she
wants?
If
your
goal
involves
other
people,
put
yourself
in
their

第二节
读后续写(25分)
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
I
found
the
book
while
I
was
looking
through
some
boxes
in
the
second-hand
shop
down
the
road.
It
was
old
and
a
bit
worn,
but
it
was
quite
cheap.
So
I
bought
it
immediately.
The
title
was
How
to
Become
Master
of
the
World
Through
Hypnosis(催眠).
I
went
home
and
read
the
book
in
an
afternoon.
Okay,
I
didn’t
understand
all
of
it.
But
the
main
points
I
remembered
were:
1.
A
good
hypnotist
can
make
people
obey
him
just
by
looking
into
their
eyes.
2.
Hold
your
index
finger
in
front
of
the
eyes
of
the
person
you
want
to
hypnotize
and
move
it
slowly
from
side
to
side.
3.
Unfortunately,
many
people
refuse
to
accept
hypnosis
for
a
number
of
different
reasons.
It
sounded
really
easy.
I
decided
to
try
out
some
hypnosis
immediately.
My
cat
Claw
was
asleep
on
my
bed
as
usual.
I
woke
him
up
very
gently
because
he
hates
being
disturbed
when
he’s
asleep.
Then
I
stared
into
his
eyes
and
moved
my
finger
from
side
to
side.
“You
will
obey
me...
My
wish
is
your
command.
Get
off
this
bed!”
Claw
looked
at
me
for
a
few
moments
then
he
jumped
gracefully
off
the
bed.
Unbelievable!
It
worked!
I
was
a
real
hypnotist!
My
heart
beat
fast
as
I
gave
him
another
order.
“Now
you
will
get
back
on
the
bed!”
Again,
Claw
obeyed
me!
Cool!
Then
suddenly,
I
had
a
thought.
Maybe
it
was
just
a
chance?
After
all,
I
had
only
asked
him
to
do
what
he
normally
did.
To
make
sure
I
had
really
hypnotized
him,
I
had
to
try
something
quite
different.
I
moved
my
finger
in
front
of
his
nose
again
and
said,
“Go
and
sleep
in
the
bin!”
Claw
looked
bored.
Then
he
curled
up
in
a
ball
and
went
back
to
sleep.
In
spite
of
this
failure,
I
decided
to
carry
on
with
my
experiment.
After
all,
maybe
my
cat
refused
to
accept
hypnosis.

参考范文:
Dear
Editor,
I’m
a
senior
high
school
student.
It’s
reported
that
in
China
many
children
in
mountainous
areas
still
can’t
go
to
school
because
of
poverty.
Last
week,
our
class
held
a
discussion
about
how
to
help
them
to
go
to
school
and
live
a
happy
childhood.
Here
are
our
suggestions.
First,
some
old
textbooks
and
clothes
can
be
collected
and
sent
to
those
children
so
that
they
can
be
reused
by
them.
Second,
it’s
also
very
important
to
appeal
to
more
people
and
social
organizations
to
help
and
care
for
those
poor
children.
As
far
as
I’m
concerned,
we
should
save
some
of
our
pocket
money
and
give
it
to
those
children
in
need.
Above
all,
we
should
give
them
respect,
never
looking
down
upon
them
because
they
are
poor.
We’ll
really
appreciate
it
if
you
can,
through
the
English
Weekly,
increase
public
awareness
of
the
poor
children’s
living
conditions
and
call
on
more
people
to
help
them.
Yours
sincerely,
Li
